A Meeting of the TSMU Academic Board Was Held

On January 26, 2016 a scheduled meeting of the Academic Board of Ternopil State Medical University was held. At first, the Rector of the University professor M.M. Korda awarded the Certificates to professors and associate professor who have recently received these titles . Medico-Legal Clinic Was Established in TSMU

A cooperation agreement between TNEU and TSMU on creation of Medico-Legal Clinic was concluded. Human rights protection, preservation and enforcement in health care can be accomplished by medical and law universities students coordination. The clinic is created to develop practical skills of the students of medical and law faculties, to provide the indigent with legal support on human rights in health care, to develop legal culture and awareness in students of medical university. The Students of TSMU Have Received a Citation for Volunteering

In Ternopil State Medical University volunteering is quite famous and expanding. The rising doctors help Ukrainian soldiers, vulnerable social groups, disabled children, orphans and also take care of the elderly. The students of TSMU participate in the charitable event “Christmas tree wishes”. This year they helped the Ternopil Centre of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth to collect gifts for disabled, disadvantaged children, and those from large families. 121 disabled children received the present they dreamed about. The Student of TSMU Has Become a Finalist of the National Poetry Contest

The student of Ternopil State Medical University Kateryna Hrushovska develops her creative skills in the literary studio “Sim Herts (Seven Hertz)”. She won the third prize at the National Poetry Contest “Pero Zharptytsi (Firebird’s Feather)”. The final act was held on January 16 in Kyiv. Kateryna Hrushovska presented her writing at the literary and musical event Art Therapy which was held at TSMU. Interactive Training Was Held in TSMU

A training programme due to the implementation of the elective course in post-traumatic stress disorder “Nurses Initiative for Alleviation of Personal Trauma” was held in Ternopil State Medical University. It is supported by the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine. At first the participants of this event studied fundamentals of diagnostics and prevention of the patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and the significance of nurses in the mental recovery of these patients and those with heavy stress. On January 18-22, 2016, more than 20 representatives from five regions of Ukraine take part in training sessions, workshops, master classes presented by leading psychiatrists and psychologists of Ukraine at Ternopil State Medical University. This event is held due to the project on elective courses implementation in post-traumatic stress disorder. On January 15 the Academician, Honorary Personality of Ukraine in the Area of Science and Technology, Deputy Director and the Head of the Department of Reconstructive and Functional Neurosurgery of the Institute of Neurosurgery, the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery of Bogomolets National Medical University Professor Vitalii Ivanovych. Tsymbaliuk has been elected for a position of the President of NAMS of Ukraine. Scientists of Ternopil State Medical University Trained at Stefan Zeromski Specialised Hospital in Krakow

Recently, resident physician of the Department of Surgery №2 of Ternopil State Medical University Ruslan Bakalius trained at Stefan Zeromski Specialised Hospital in Krakow (Poland). The aim of this training programme is to improve postgraduate education of young scientists and researchers up to 35 years old on the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases and to implement the evidence based methods of diagnostics and surgical treatment into clinical practice.
