New phantom class for the training of dentistry students opened at TSMU

Improving student training facilities is priority for Ternopil State Medical University administration. Recently, TSMU launched a dentistry phantom class with 14 workstations, allowing students to work on their practical skills. The new training facility joins the first phantom class with 12 stations opened last year. The phantoms allow to simulate therapeutic, orthopedic, surgical and children’s dental cases, while the instructors help to analyze each situation in detail. The modern ambulance presented to TSMU by the German partners will be used in student training

The directorate of the charity fund “Humanitarian aid in Bielefeld” presented Ternopil State Medical University on the occasion of its 60th anniversary with an ambulance vehicle fitted with modern equipment. In its 24 years of cooperation with Ukrainian public organizations and medical institutions the German fund has delivered 45 ambulance vehicles to our country. Now TSMU has its own specialized vehicle, which will be used in the study process to improve skills of doctors-in-training. The XXVII Autumn Assembly of the European Medical Student Association began its work on 2 September 2017, in the capital of Hungary, Budapest. Participating in the event are representatives of the branches of this non-governmental organization from almost all European countries. For almost a week the young people will be discussing pressing issues of medicine and human rights protection. Delegation from the Polish town of Nowy Tomyśl visited Ternopil State Medical University

Ternopil State Medical University has developed close ties with universities, research and medical institutions of the Republic of Poland, and is constantly expanding cooperation with institutions of this country. TSMU graduate student trained at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf

Graduate student of Kovalchuk Department of Surgery Stepan Hrytsenko, trained at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany for 4 weeks in June and July 2017. The internship was made possible by the United Global Gastroenterology Association’s Visiting Fellowships for Clinicians. New generation of medical students begins their training at TSMU

The excitement was palpable in Ternopil State Medical University on August 31, 2017 when the new cohort of medical students became matriculated. The student family welcomed 965 first-year students, as well as 122 young people who had transferred from medical colleges. Perhaps even more excited were international students. Over 80 first-year students have already been enrolled to TSMU. These young people come as far away as India, Pakistan, Poland, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt. TSMU international students visited orphaned children

To mark Independence Day of Ukraine, international students of Ternopil State Medical University organized a charity event. The students have prepared gifts for orphaned children and children from low-income families placed in a care facility and on August 24 they paid children an informal visit to share celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day.
