The sixtieth anniversary of of Ternopil State Medical University is a milestone date in its history. It was marked with celebrations on May 26, 2017. The main event, convocation, took place in municipal Berezil Performing Arts center. Ternopil State Medical University received ISO certification

During the convocation celebrating the 60th anniversary of Ternopil State Medical University, which took place on May 26, 2017 at the Berezil Arts Center, the university has received plaques confirming its ISO 9001: 2015 (quality management) certification.  The certification is a result of certification audit, which verified implementation of educational and research activities in accordance with international standards and was conducted by external auditors Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine. Ternopil State Medical University students organized events for the World No Tobacco Day

Each year TSMU students organize and participate in events dedicated to tobacco control. On May 31 of this year our students together with representatives of the regional Health Center and Red Cross Society volunteer corps (many of whom are also TSMU students) gathered together by Ivan Franko monument  in Ternopil to urge passersby to quit the harmful habit of smoking. The 60th anniversary of Ternopil State Medical University was an important occasion, calling for a number of events, each of which was carefully planned and prepared ahead of time. TSMU scholars took part in the International Congress of Medical Sciences in Bulgaria

International Congress of Medical Sciences (ICMS 2017) took place in mid-May in Sofia, Bulgaria. Residents of  TSMU Department of primary care, general practice and family medicine Uliana Zakharchuk and Natalia Melnyk took part in the event. ICMS 2017 was a joint effort of the Bulgarian association of medical students and ICMS 2017 Organizing Committee. Ternopil State Medical University was recently awarded the highest distinction of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine during the 60th anniversary celebrations. On 16-27 May 2017, Wojciech Barg, professor of Wroclaw Medical University visited Ternopil State Medical University on academic exchange program ERASMUS+. TSMU students showed good results in the National Olympiad on infectious diseases

Recently Odessa National Medical University hosted the National Olympiad on infectious diseases. Ternopil State Medical University team consisted of fifth year students of the Faculty of Medicine and winners of the first round of the competition Aliona Lukianchuk, Taras Kolesnyk and Oleh Pliuvak. A total of 43 students represented 15 Ukrainian universities. On 21 May the 5th Science Picnics took place on the Theater Square. Science Picnics, first started in Ternopil in 2013, is an exciting project aimed at popularizing science for children. As is tradition, Ternopil State Medical University students and staff participated in the event. In total there were more than 250 participants and 38 teams presented their experiments. International students of Ternopil State Medical University gave yet another virtual tour of their country for a local television station. This time, visiting TTB studios were students from Namibia. Our students Shipopyeni Joleni Ndapandula and  Shikulo Panduleni Twahafifwa not only talked about their homeland, but also sang traditional songs, and showcased the national dress. The long-term cooperation between Ternopil State Medical University and Wrocław Medical University allows our lecturers and professors to train using research and clinical facilities of the Polish university. Recently, Associate Professor of Prosthodontics of the Faculty of Dentistry Svitlana Rosolovska was in Wroclaw Medical University on a month-long internship.
