At the present stage of development of orthopedic dentistry, the task of doctors is not only to restore the integrity of the teeth and dentition, but at the same time to ensure the restoration of the masticatory and speech functions of the dentoalveolar apparatus precisely in combination with high aesthetic indicators of finished restorations. Improving the effectiveness of orthopedic treatment is carried out in the following areas: methods for the manufacture of fixed prostheses are improved, new materials are developed, the principles for the manufacture of prostheses.

At the present stage of development of orthopedic dentistry, progressive computer technologies for data processing and process control of automated production of structures are increasingly used to replace defects in hard tissues of teeth and dentitions. And for this purpose, software modules with a convenient graphical interface are used for the automated interaction of design tasks and production complexes.

Computer aided design (CAD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM), and computer aided engineering (CAE) are interconnected and called automated design systems.

Thus, in modern dentistry, the method of manufacturing prosthetic structures using various unique hardware-software planning systems is being increasingly introduced.
