Nutritiology (from Latin. Nutritio – food, from Greek. Logos – science) – is a new science with its ideology and its laws. It originated on the basis of dietetics.

The subject of definition of the discipline are the classic and newest concepts of nutrition, nutrient composition and nutritional value of basic foodstuffs, their physiological functions in the body, modern recommendations on nutrition of the population and consumption of basic nutrients, foodstuffs of functional purpose; dietary supplements, scientific principles of preparation and characterization of dietary rations of therapeutic and preventive nutrition of the main therapeutic diets.
