The Medical University of Warsaw invites all foreign candidates to submit applications for new international 4-year PhD program
Dear Foreign Graduates of medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences studies,
The Doctoral School of the Medical University of Warsaw invites all foreign candidates to submit applications for new international 4-year PhD program. A total of 10 dedicated places were established for foreign graduates of medical studies, pharmaceutical studies, and health sciences studies starting from the upcoming 2023/2024 academic year.
Over the course of the 4-year program, successful applicants will prepare their PhD thesis under the supervision of the faculty members of the Medical University of Warsaw – an internationally recognized Polish academic institution. The curriculum, entirely though in English, includes a number of courses essential for conducting research and academic teaching in medical, pharmaceutical and health sciences. Briefly, all PhD students will obtain knowledge and skills in:
- Data Science
- Basics of methodology and scientific writing
- Basics of academic teaching
- Translational Sciences
- Creating a scientific project and acquisition of funding
- Laboratory research methods
- Law: medicine, pharmaceuthics, intelectual property
- Critical review of literature and research ethics
Additionally, PhD students will have the possibility to attend multidisciplinary seminars conducted by academic teachers from Medical University of Warsaw and prestigious foreign institutions. In each year, progress in research and preparing PhD theses will be evaluated during critical evaluation classes with the faculty of the Doctoral School.
The international PhD course is free of any tuition and all PhD students will receive a monthly scholarship of 2667,70 PLN for first 2 years and 4109,70 PLN for the subsequent 2 years. The scholarship for 3 best successful applicants will be increased by 2000 PLN monthly over the first year with possible extension towards the second year.
The recruitment starts in August 2023 and consists of 3 phases:
1 – foreign language exam
2 – assessment of candidate’s prior achievements
3 – interview
The results will be announced in mid-September.
