Ternopil State Medical University students held chess tournament

This year Ternopil State Medical University is commemorating its 60th anniversary with a number of events. As a part of these celebrations, on 24 November TSMU Student Council organized a chess tournament. Additional objective of the event was to popularize logic board games. Chess is known form the ancient times, but even today  the game keeps its significance. Assistant professor of the Department of Internal Medicine Oksana Ruzhytska participated in Erasmus Mundus MEDEA (staff exchange) program from 16 October to 18 November 2016. She took an internship at the Cardiff Metropolitan University (United Kingdom ). Ternopil State Medical University hosted a round table meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Public Health

TSMU students organized pageant “Miss Ghana in Ukraine”

Association of Ghanaian students of Ternopil State Medical University held a beauty pageant Miss Ghana, first such event in Ukraine. It took place in Ternopil’s Peremoga Ukrainian House. Our students wanted to use this event to bring together their compatriots from different Universities across Ukraine. This spectacular celebration drew many women, who competed the crown and title of the most beautiful. Association of Indian students in Ternopil State Medical University elected new chairman

On 18 November students from India studying at Ternopil State Medical University voted for a new chairman of the Association of Indian students. Arshbeer Sandhu, a third year student, was elected for this office. During presentation of his program Arshbeer said that he would do everything to bring students together even more. He added that it is important to take care of each representative of the Indian Brotherhood, help them in solving their problems. Ternopil State Medical University held VI conference on Research, Development and Optimization of Technological Processes in Drug Creation

TSMU students participated in trivia game competition on the university history

On 10 November Student Scholar Society of Ternopil State Medical University organized a trivia game the fellowstudents on “milestones in the history of Ternopil State Medical University.” Participating in the competition were members of SSS, as well as students of medical and dental faculties. Quite a few young people from Poland pursue their medical education at Ternopil State Medical University. November 11 is an important date for the Poles, because it marks the day Poland has gained independence in 1928 after 123 years of occupation. Ternopil State Medical University faculty and students organized a charity event for children without parental care

Faculty and students of Ternopil State Medical University regularly carry out charitable projects and participate in volunteer activities. Recently, medical interns and their mentors from Faculty of Dentistry of the institute of postgraduate education helped children without parental care. For three days, members of the Department had been taking care of oral health of more than ten young patients from Ternopil Regional Home for Schoolchildren. Each pupil received quality dental care. On 27 October and 3 November TSMU students voted for new members to the Student Council. Indian students at Ternopil State Medical University keep their traditions while studying in Ukraine. They recently celebrated their one of their biggest holidays – Diwali, festival of lights. This festival is always associated with fire and light, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. Diwali in India is celebrated during new moon. This year the holiday fell on 30 October. TSMU Nigerian students took part in the Cultural Day

Each year students from Nigeria organize a large-scale event to celebrate their homeland and traditions. This year for the first time “Nigerian Cultural Day” brought together representatives from all peoples of this country studying in Ternopil universities. The largest ethnic groups in Nigeria are tribes of Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. Nigerian Ternopil State Medical University students were enthusiastically involved in organization of the event. Ternopil State Medical University held scientific conference Medical and Social Problems in Childhood

On 28 October, 2016 the convocations hall of Ternopil State Medical University was a site of scientific conference Medical and Social Problems in Childhood, organized by the faculty and staff of the Departments of Pediatrics and Childhood Diseases and Pediatric surgery of the Medical Faculty. International Conference of Young Researchers “Annual Young Medical Scientists’ Conference 2016” took place on 28-29 October at the Bohomolets National Medical University.  At this forum Ternopil State Medical University was represented by the IV year student of the medical faculty Ihor Stetsiuk. On 2 November professors from Fairfield University (Connecticut, USA) Catherine Nants and David Schmidt visited Ternopil State Medical University to give a lecture in the framework of the promotion of academic integrity in Ukraine. TSMU Student Council members participate in the project “Steps to the Future”

The first meeting of the newly elected members of the Ternopil State Medical University Student Council on 30 October took the form of communication training.
