Ternopil State Medical University international students celebrated Christmas with Ternopil residents

Christmas celebrations took place 25-27 December at the Theater Square , location of the main tree of the city. During this joyful event followers of Roman Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox churches joined the celebrations as part of the national action “Ukraine and the world celebrate Christmas together.” This was a family event, which also attracted many young people. TSMU students brought holiday gifts for the charges of Maliatko children’s home

On the occasion of St. Nicholas’s Day fourth year students of Ternopil State Medical University, along with their supervisor, assistant professor of pharmacology Iryna Moseychuk, visited regional children’s home Maliatko, to share holiday spirit with the kids. The future doctors showed a theater performance in which the main character was St. Nicholas. Children happily greeted their guests and reciprocated with recitations of nursery rhymes and songs. For several years now Ternopil State Medical University students have been helping families in need on St. Nicholas’ day. As is a tradition, the Center of social services and protection of children compiles a list of such families, who then receive visits from the future doctors bringing gifts. During TSMU Academic Council meeting which took place on 14 December, rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhaylo Korda recognized the best students of the university for their achievements in studies, research, athletics, arts, and charity work. TSMU international students took part in St. Andrew’s Day festivities

Winter time in Ukrainian culture is full of exciting folk festivals and traditions. One of the most interesting saint’s feasts is dedicated to St. Andrew, the patron saint of Ukraine. Traditionally, on St. Andrew’s Eve the youth got together to celebrate in a number of ways. Boys played pranks, while girls performed magic rituals to divine names of their future husbands. Each year students Ternopil State Medical University are actively involved in actions and events to observe the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This time it was fifth-year students from the Faculty of Medicine  who shared  their  warmth with kids with disabilities. TSMU expands research collaborations with Polish colleagues

From December 5 to 9, Ternopil State Medical University delegation visited University of Warsaw at the invitation of the administration of this. The delegation included TSMU rector, Professor Mykhaylo Korda and Vice-rector for Research Professor Ivan Klisch. They met with vice-rector of the Polish university, Professor Macei Duszczyk to discuss possibilities of future cooperation between the two universities. Egyptian Students Association of TSMU has new president

Recently, Egyptian Students Association of Ternopil State Medical University has elected its president. Of 56 students from this country casting their votes, 21 voted for Ahmed Salem Mohamed Abdelgawwad. Other candidates, Ahmed Nabil and Amr Zakaria received 20 and 17 votes respectively. Thus, Ahmed Salem Mohamed Abdelgawwad was declared winner of the election. TSMU international students shared the warmth of their hearts with orphaned children

Ternopil State Medical University international students don’t miss opportunities for doing good deeds. On 6 December members of Ternopil branch of European Medical Students Association together with their mentors, Associate Professors of the Pediatrics Department Natalia Haliiash and Svitlana Nikytiuk visited Ternopil regional Children’s Home Maliatko with a charity program “Teddy Bear”. The event aimed to instill in children a positive attitude towards doctors. Ternopil State Medical University students are always involved with important social problems and issues, actions and events. Ternopil State Medical University students, members of Ternopil branch of the European Medical Students Association on 2 December held a thematic meeting. Ternopil State Medical University researchers won a grant for a project on primary immune deficiencies
