Ternopil State Medical University student participated in Antwerp Medical Students’ Congress

From the 13th to 17th of September 2017, EMSA (European Medical Students’ Association) organized the 11th Antwerp Medical Students’ Congress “Under Pressure”. On the 13th and 14th of September biomedical students from all over the world presented their research to their peers. TSMU professors participated the VIII Lviv-Lublin Conference on Experimental and Clinical Biochemistry

Associate Professors of the Department of Medical Biochemistry Petro Lykhatskyi and Tetiana Yaroshenko , along with the Head of IPGE Department of Pharmacy Professor Liudmyla Fira participated in the international meeting VIII Lviv-Lublin Conference on Experimental and Clinical Biochemistry, which was held on 18-20 September in Lublin, Poland. These conferences take place every two years, alternately in Poland or Ukraine, starting from 2000. Humboldt Research Award

The award is granted in recognition of a researcher’s entire achievements to date to academics whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and who are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements in the future. Academics from abroad, regardless of their discipline or nationality, may be nominated for a Humboldt Research Award. Sports flash mob took place at TSMU

For several years now Ternopil State Medical University has been involved in the citywide International Day of University Sport, aimed at promoting healthy lifestyle and popularizing different sports activities among young people. Canadian expert Renata Roman gave master classes for TSMU professors and students

Recently, founder and owner of Clarkson Sports & Physio Clinic in Toronto, Canada Renata Roman made a working visit to Ternopil State Medical University. Ms. Roman is a vice president and international coordinator of the Congress of Ukrainian Canadians. She has previously visited our university giving a series of lectures on physical rehabilitation. A seminar on laws and regulations of clinical trials took place in TSMU

TSMU scholar participated in the 3rd Summer Conference on Neonatology

Assistant professor of the Department of Pediatrics Iryna Sarapuk participated in the Summer Conference on Neonatology, which took place on September 5-8, 2017 in Avignon, France. In the Palace of the Popes, where the conference took place. Summer Conferences on Neonatology are held annually and attract leading neonatologists of the world. First-year TSMU students learned about principles of the Project for Promoting Academic Integrity in Ukraine

On September 13, 2017 first year Students of Ternopil State Medical University got to learn about the mission and main tasks of the Strengthening Academic Integrity in Ukraine Project (SAIUP). Project coordinator Taras Tymochko and project specialist Yana Chapailo talked with the young people about becoming successful, competitive professionals and real patriots of Ukraine. New phantom class for the training of dentistry students opened at TSMU

Improving student training facilities is priority for Ternopil State Medical University administration. Recently, TSMU launched a dentistry phantom class with 14 workstations, allowing students to work on their practical skills. The new training facility joins the first phantom class with 12 stations opened last year. The phantoms allow to simulate therapeutic, orthopedic, surgical and children’s dental cases, while the instructors help to analyze each situation in detail. The modern ambulance presented to TSMU by the German partners will be used in student training

The directorate of the charity fund “Humanitarian aid in Bielefeld” presented Ternopil State Medical University on the occasion of its 60th anniversary with an ambulance vehicle fitted with modern equipment. In its 24 years of cooperation with Ukrainian public organizations and medical institutions the German fund has delivered 45 ambulance vehicles to our country. Now TSMU has its own specialized vehicle, which will be used in the study process to improve skills of doctors-in-training. The XXVII Autumn Assembly of the European Medical Student Association began its work on 2 September 2017, in the capital of Hungary, Budapest. Participating in the event are representatives of the branches of this non-governmental organization from almost all European countries. For almost a week the young people will be discussing pressing issues of medicine and human rights protection. Ternopil State Medical University has developed close ties with universities, research and medical institutions of the Republic of Poland, and is constantly expanding cooperation with institutions of this country. TSMU graduate student trained at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf

Graduate student of Kovalchuk Department of Surgery Stepan Hrytsenko, trained at University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany for 4 weeks in June and July 2017. The internship was made possible by the United Global Gastroenterology Association’s Visiting Fellowships for Clinicians. New generation of medical students begins their training at TSMU

The excitement was palpable in Ternopil State Medical University on August 31, 2017 when the new cohort of medical students became matriculated. The student family welcomed 965 first-year students, as well as 122 young people who had transferred from medical colleges. Perhaps even more excited were international students. Over 80 first-year students have already been enrolled to TSMU. These young people come as far away as India, Pakistan, Poland, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt. TSMU international students visited orphaned children

To mark Independence Day of Ukraine, international students of Ternopil State Medical University organized a charity event. The students have prepared gifts for orphaned children and children from low-income families placed in a care facility and on August 24 they paid children an informal visit to share celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day.
