TSMU professor took part in the XXII Kyiv Dermatology Days

European Medical Students’ Association held an open door meeting

TSMU students that form Ternopil branch of the European Medical Students’ Association recently held  an open door meeting in the administrative building of Ternopil State Medical University. President of the branch, fourth-year student Zuzanna Betkowiak from Poland, congratulated all present on the start of the new academic year. TSMU students took part in World Hospice & Palliative Care Week events

To mark World Hospice & Palliative Care Week, professors and students of TSMU Institute of Nursing together with employees of Ternopil Regional Hospice organized an event aiming to inform about the current state of palliative and hospice care. Joining the representatives of the League of Palliative and Hospice Assistance in Ternopil region, they set up an information tent next Ivan Franko monument, giving detailed explanations and consultations to Ternopil public. TSMU Center of Minimally Invasive Surgical Technologies moved into its new premises

A medical simulation training center has as its main objective achieving patient safety through the use of modern teaching methods and perfected hands-on skills. When practical skills are being acquired through supervised training, modelling, and simulation, this results in developing correct techniques and procedures, helping to minimize professional and operational risks. TSMU delegation visited Rzeszow University

At the invitation of Sylwester Czopek, rector of Rzeszow University, Poland, a delegation TSMU professors, including Vice-Rector for research, Dr. I.M. Klisch, associate professor of pediatrics V.B. Furdelia, and assistant professor of medical rehabilitation Y.I.Zavidniuk attended matriculation of Rzeszow University students. TSMU students participated in 68th congress of the association of Polish surgeons in Krakow

On 27-30 September 68th Congress of the Association of Polish Surgeons took place in ICE Krakow Congress Centre in Poland with Prof Paweł Lampe as Chair of the Scientific Committee and Prof Piotr Richter as Chair of the Organising Committee. Representatives of Polish Association’s Election at Ternopil State Medical University

On 11 October 2017 the election of representatives took place at TSMU. In September 2017 associate professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology Oksana Shevchuk interned at Iovel Kutateladze Institute of Pharmacochemistry (Director professor Nana Gorgaslidze) and Tbilisi State Medical University Department of Pharmacology (Head of the Department professor Nikoloz Gongadze). TSMU students gifted medical equipment to a training and rehabilitation center

Ternopil State Medical University students enthusiastically participate in charity actions, helping those in need of support and attention. Associate professor of the Department of Philosophy and Social Studies Taras Kabodnyi together with Ukrainian and international students have organized a university-wide volunteer movement MISERICORDIA. Ukrainian-Indian Conversation School began its work at TSMU

Week at TSMU Library. The main goal of this public initiative is to allow Ukrainian students and residents of Ternopil to learn Hindi directly from the speakers of this language, Indian students. Both Hindi and Ukrainian belong to the same group of languages, and stem from a common ancestral language, Proto-Indo-European. Head of TSMU Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery Professor Oksana Boyarchuk took part in the 2017 meeting of the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID). TSMU continues the large-scale study of epidemiology, prevention and treatment of Lyme disease

On September 25-28, 2017, a group of scientists of TSMU’s Department of Infectious Diseases visited forestry workers of Zakarpatska region. The visit had two main goals: first, to assess how much the foresters know about epidemiology, main clinical signs and prevention of Lyme borreliosis, and second, to test for Lyme infection across this professional group.
