Faculty of TSMU Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery took part in the events of the World PI Week

Every year on April 22-29, the World PI Week is observed to bring together patients, parents, doctors, junior medical staff, politicians and health organizers in promoting awareness of primary immunodeficiency diseases. This was the fourth year Ukraine joined events of the Week. TSMU dentistry scholar of took part in the work of International Medical Congress for Students and Young Doctors MedEspera 2018 in Chișinău, Moldova

Ternopil State Medical University researchers attended the 5th International Medical Congress for Students and Young Doctors MedEspera 2018 which took place on May 3-5. Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry, Professor Petro Hasiuk, and the postgraduate student of the Department of Dentistry Volodymyr Radchuk visited Nicolae Testemiţanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Chișinău, Moldova. TSMU signed a cooperation agreement with Al-Hawash Private University

A delegation from Al-Hawash Private University (Homs, Syria), which included Chair of the HPU Board of Trustees Mr. Kamel Ayoub and HPU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs Prof. Mohammed Alnukkari, made an official visit to Ternopil State Medical University. Al-Hawash Private University  is one of the largest private institutions of higher education in Syria. There are Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Cosmetology. Festival of Global Cuisines took place at TSMU

As reported earlier, Ternopil State Medical University launched a charity drive to raise funds for disadvantaged children. TSMU students want bring joyful experiences into the lives of children in need, and to do this they are equipping a rehabilitation room in the School 28 for children with speech, vision, and mental impairments. Ternopil State Medical University students visited assisted living house with a charity event

Department of Foreign Languages ​​ organized a visit of Ternopil State Medical University students and teachers to Petryky regional geriatric boarding house. A traditional event dedicated to the Mother’s Day, its goal was to bring some care and help to the elderly living in the boarding house, share respect and love. TSMU students placed third in a simulation medicine competition in Poland

Team of Ternopil State Medical University, consisting of students of the Faculty of Medicine Bohdana Pereviznyk, Kateryna Vorobets, Nargiz Dzhavadova, Roman Huk and Ihor Bihar took the third place in the SimChallenge Student Competition on simulation medicine. The competition took place on April 26-29, 2018 in Lublin, Poland. Rector of Ternopil State Medical University met with Director of Ukrainian State Center for International Education and Secretary of the Embassy of India

On May 3, 2018, rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhaylo Korda met with Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of India Bharat Singh Bisht and director of Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena Shapovalova.   Dr. Korda updated Bharat Singh Bisht on the activities and achievements of TSMU. TSMU hosted the International Medical Congress of Students and Young Scientists

Every year, Ternopil State Medical University welcomes several hundred young people, who come to participate in the International Medical Congress of students and young scientists. On April 23-25, they gathered in the recreation complex Chervona Kalyna discuss current medical issues. 234 of the participants represented Ukrainian universities while 254 were from TSMU. In total, 576 papers were submitted to the forum: 566 of them from Ukraine, and 10 from abroad. TSMU Association of Nigerian Students organized a sports festival

A sports festival took place in Ternopil State Medical University for the second year in a row. Last year, the event was organized by the members of Indian Students’ Association, while this year‘s competition was organized by the Association of Nigerian Students of Nigeria. In a number of tournaments held in April, students competed for the championships in volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, and table tennis. Head of TSMU Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery, Professor Oksana Boyarchuk and assistant professor Kateryna Hlushko took part in an informational day on kidney health and treatment of children with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. TSMU international student took first place in the Olympiad on Latin language and Medical Terminology

Students of the Ternopil State Medical University took part in the 2nd stage of National Student Olympiad on Latin Language and Foundations of Medical Terminology, which took place on April 26-27, 2018, at the Department of Foreign Languages, Latin Language and Medical Terminology of the Ukrainian Medical Dentistry Academy (Poltava). Students of Ternopil State Medical University took part in the International Medical Students’ Conference, which took place on April 19-21, 2018 in Krakow. Ternopil State Medical University expands its cooperation with Indian recruiting companies

Recently, rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhaylo Korda held a meeting with the with director of the company DOCTORPLUS Educational Consultancy Amit Patel, representing the Right Choice company  (director Dr. Puneet Kumar). The discussion centered on expanding cooperation and recruitment of young people from India to come to study at TDMU. Dr. Korda supports the proposal to increase the number of students from the Indian state of Gujarat who wish to obtain higher medical education in Ternopil. Art gallery opened at TSMU

On April 19, 2018, Ternopil State Medical University library has inaugurated on its premises an Art Gallery. The gallery is conceived as an  space for students and staff to showcase their own pieces and appreciate the works of others. It will feature rotating exhibits, including of photography, fine arts and other visual arts. The opening of the art space at TSMU library was celebrated with an exhibition of the works by Ternopil artist Mykola Pazizin. International students of Ternopil State Medical University raised funds for charity

Each year in the spring international students of TSMU organize big charity events to raise funds for disadvantaged children. This year’s program has a goal of raising funds for children with chronic diseases whose families struggle to pay medical bills. The students want help children with incurable illnesses that have been fighting the disease throughout their entire lives. TSMU students and staff planted an orchard

On April 17, 2018, sixth year students together with staff of the Faculty of Medicine dean’s office have planted 61 fruit trees at the academic and recreation center Chervona Kalyna of Ternopil State Medical University. The number of trees was chose to represent the 61 years since the foundation of TSMU celebrated on 12th of April. A selection of apple, pear, plum and cherry trees will symbolize the gratitude of sixth year students to their Alma Mater for teaching, attention and professional development.
