Ternopil State Medical University professor participated in the Great Teachers Seminar

In June 2018, head of TSMU Department of Pediatric Diseases and Pediatric Surgery Professor Oksana Boyarchuk trained at MacEwan University (Edmonton, Canada). Participating in the training program were also faculty from other Ukrainian partners of MacEwan University: Natalia Starynska from the National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” and Oleksandr Avramchuk from Ukrainian Catholic University. To mark International Children’s Day on June 1, 2018 TSMU students Abdelgawwad Ahmed Salem Mohammed, Saleh Abdelrahman Khaled Ibrahim, Juliet KusiBoateng, Daniel Aganren, Osman Sheriff Abdulkadir, Alele PreciousGift and deputy director of Ternopil State Medical University Center for Academic and Cultural Development Olena Pokryshko visited the educational complex №28 in Ternopil. The visit was a part of the project Let’s Make Life of Children Happier that took place at TSMU in April and May. Joint Canadian-Ukrainian Course on Global Health took place in TSMU

On May 15-25, 2018 Ternopil State Medical University hosted a joint Canadian-Ukrainian course Global Health. This course was developed within the framework of cooperation between TSMU and MacEwan University (Edmonton, Canada). Course participants included 20 students of MacEwan University Faculty of Nursing, and 8 students of TSMU Faculty of Medicine. Ternopil State Medical University researcher trained at Paul Sabatier University (Toulouse, France)

Ph.D. student of TSMU Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology Halyna Loi trained as part of the PhD program from October 2017 until April 2018 at the Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Diseases (I2MC) of Paul Sabatier University and Toulouse University Hospital as a part of academic mobility project Erasmus +. Results of competition among TSMU students to study at Wroclaw Medical University

On May 21, 2018,  TSMU department of international relations finalized results of a competition for 3rd and 4th year medical students to study at Wroclaw Medical University for one semester during the 2018-2019 academic year. Competition committee included professors A.H.Shulhai and I.R.Selskyi, assoc. profoessors H.A.Krytska, N.E.Lisnychuk, T. A. Kovalchuk and A.I.Mastalir, and assistant professor M.Y. Kychula. Ternopil State Medical University researchers continue studying epidemiology, manifestations and prevention of Lyme disease

On May 17, 2018 a working group of scientists from TSMU Department of Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology visited five forestry districts of Volyn region. The work aimed to assess understanding by the foresters of epidemiology, main clinical manifestations and prevention of Lyme disease, and to carry out clinical and laboratory studies to detect borreliosis bacteria in risk groups. TSMU students-members of EMSA organized an assembly and selected a new team

Ternopil branch of the European Medical Student Association held the final event of the year. Members of the organization, students of Ternopil State Medical University  congregated a Ukrainian Assembly of EMSA. 95 students from different cities of Ukraine attended this event. Today in Ukraine there are 8 branches of the European Medical Student Association, all of them being active in medical schools.
