TNMU announces online contest “Poem in vyshyvanka”

To celebrate the World Vyshyvanka Day and in order to comply with the rules of quarantine, students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University decided to honour the Ukrainian traditions in an interesting way and spend this time interestingly, immersed in poetry. Thus, they announced an online contest “Poem in vyshyvanka” (vyshyvanka – Ukrainian national embroidered shirt). We will remind that in TNMU honouring of the Ukrainian embroidered shirt has become a good tradition.

The main rule of the competition is to recite a poem wearing vyshyvanka. Each participant must send their video to the e-mail One must be sure to indicate the title of the poem, its author and be dressed in traditional embroidered shirt. All videos will be published on TNMU’s YouTube channel and the university’s official Instagram page. The winner will be chosen according to the number of video likes (the fairness of the vote will be ensured by monitoring).

The choice of a poem is completely free. The organizers of the competition even allow the recitation of their own work. There are no restrictions on the language, authors, length of the poems. However, an embroidered dress code is required. It is allowed to recite the same poem by different participants.
