TSMU students collected funds to help children in need

On October 10, 2018 and on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day, students of Ternopil State Medical University Department of Psychiatry, Narcology, and Medical Psychology have carried out a number of events to raise funds to purchase of medicines for children-residents of the Care House in Chortkiv. TSMU students continue their charitable endeavors

Recently, Ternopil State Medical University received a letter of appreciation from the staff of NICU of Ternopil Regional Children’s Hospital. Doctors, parents and the little patients convey their  gratitude to TSMU international students’ faculty for their involvement and help. Staff and students of Ternopil State Medical University can become bone marrow donors

Recently, Ternopil residents organized the first non-governmental registry of bone marrow donors. This idea stemmed the dire need for marrow transplants. Currently in Ukraine these surgeries are not performed, while such operations abroad can cost up to 100 thousand dollars. Half of this cost goes for the search and selection of a donor. Those in need of bone marrow transplants have only 25% chance of finding a suitable family donor, requiring the rest to look for non-related donors in the registries of hematopoietic stem cells. Festival of Global Cuisines took place at TSMU

As reported earlier, Ternopil State Medical University launched a charity drive to raise funds for disadvantaged children. TSMU students want bring joyful experiences into the lives of children in need, and to do this they are equipping a rehabilitation room in the School 28 for children with speech, vision, and mental impairments. Department of Foreign Languages ​​ organized a visit of Ternopil State Medical University students and teachers to Petryky regional geriatric boarding house. A traditional event dedicated to the Mother’s Day, its goal was to bring some care and help to the elderly living in the boarding house, share respect and love. International students of Ternopil State Medical University raised funds for charity

Each year in the spring international students of TSMU organize big charity events to raise funds for disadvantaged children. This year’s program has a goal of raising funds for children with chronic diseases whose families struggle to pay medical bills. The students want help children with incurable illnesses that have been fighting the disease throughout their entire lives. On April 3, 2018, domestica and international students of Ternopil State Medical University launched a charity drive Let’s Make the Life of Children Happier. Ternopil State Medical University students enthusiastically participate in charity actions, helping those in need of support and attention. The modern ambulance presented to TSMU by the German partners will be used in student training

The directorate of the charity fund “Humanitarian aid in Bielefeld” presented Ternopil State Medical University on the occasion of its 60th anniversary with an ambulance vehicle fitted with modern equipment. In its 24 years of cooperation with Ukrainian public organizations and medical institutions the German fund has delivered 45 ambulance vehicles to our country. Now TSMU has its own specialized vehicle, which will be used in the study process to improve skills of doctors-in-training. To mark Independence Day of Ukraine, international students of Ternopil State Medical University organized a charity event. The students have prepared gifts for orphaned children and children from low-income families placed in a care facility and on August 24 they paid children an informal visit to share celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day. TSMU staff delivered yet another humanitarian shipment form Canada to military hospitals

Former TSMU employees Bohdan Boichuk and Nadiia Arkhipova continue providing humanitarian medical assistance to Ukrainian hospitals. Today they live and work in Canada, but always keep in their thoughts those in need in their homeland. The most recent shipment of humanitarian aid they have sent contained medical supplies and was designated to the Lviv Military Hospital to cover the needs of its surgical and rehabilitation departments, as well as to the military unit A4615 hospital in Dnipro. Over 10 thousand hryvnas collected Polish students of Ternopil State Medical University. The money are earmarked for the treatment of 5 year-old Marichka Hvozdyska diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Dentistry students from Poland decided to help by collecting charity pledges form other students and Polish diaspora. TSMU Dentistry Clinic opened its doors

University Hospital Dental Clinic located on 7 Chekhova opened its doors on April 5. This clinic will serve the residents of our city and region, providing services such as free dental diagnosis and patients consults by TSMU professors and other specialists in therapeutic, pediatric, orthopedic and surgical dentistry.
