TSMU students continue their charitable endeavors

Recently, Ternopil State Medical University received a letter of appreciation from the staff of NICU of Ternopil Regional Children’s Hospital. Doctors, parents and the little patients convey their  gratitude to TSMU international students’ faculty for their involvement and help. TSMU students donated equipment for rehabilitation of children with special needs

TSMU students-members of EMSA organized an assembly and selected a new team

Ternopil branch of the European Medical Student Association held the final event of the year. Members of the organization, students of Ternopil State Medical University  congregated a Ukrainian Assembly of EMSA. 95 students from different cities of Ukraine attended this event. Festival of Global Cuisines took place at TSMU

As reported earlier, Ternopil State Medical University launched a charity drive to raise funds for disadvantaged children. TSMU students want bring joyful experiences into the lives of children in need, and to do this they are equipping a rehabilitation room in the School 28 for children with speech, vision, and mental impairments. On May 3, 2018, rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhaylo Korda met with Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of India Bharat Singh Bisht and director of Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena Shapovalova.   Dr. Korda updated Bharat Singh Bisht on the activities and achievements of TSMU. TSMU Association of Nigerian Students organized a sports festival

A sports festival took place in Ternopil State Medical University for the second year in a row. Last year, the event was organized by the members of Indian Students’ Association, while this year‘s competition was organized by the Association of Nigerian Students of Nigeria. In a number of tournaments held in April, students competed for the championships in volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, and table tennis. International students of Ternopil State Medical University raised funds for charity

Each year in the spring international students of TSMU organize big charity events to raise funds for disadvantaged children. This year’s program has a goal of raising funds for children with chronic diseases whose families struggle to pay medical bills. The students want help children with incurable illnesses that have been fighting the disease throughout their entire lives. TSMU rector met with the leadership of international student associations

Rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda met with representatives of international community studying in our university. Such conversations are a good tradition, allowing all sides to talk about their concerns. TSMU students mastered the craft of Easter egg painting

On the eve of Easter holidays, Ternopil State Medical University staff, clinical residents, domestic and international students and students of the preparation department attended a master class on traditional Easter egg decoration. Young people from Ecuador, Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Portugal, Egypt and Palestine learned Ukrainian folk techniques for decorating Easter eggs. Ternopil State Medical University continues cooperation with Ecuador

Rector of Ternopil State Medical University, Professor Mykhaylo Korda recently met with the president of the Fundacion EuroLatina (Ecuador) Maria Reyes and representative of the company in Ternopil Johanna Arguello. They discussed the ongoing cooperation to encourage students from Ecuador to come for study at TSMU.   Next year at least 30 students from Ecuador looking to get medical education will arrive to Ternopil. Ternopil State Medical University students celebrated Holi

Each year in early spring, India celebrates the colorful festival of Holi, which is associated with the awakening of nature, bright blossoms of flowers and youth. On March 18, 2018 the Ukrainian-Indian Friendship club Sanskriti presented the Indian tradition of celebrating Holi in Ternopil State Medical University library. The event’s program featured classical Indian dances performed by the students of the Indian dance school Amrita, performances by TSMU Indian students and sprinkling with colors. Winners were determined in TSMU Cultural Diversity Photo contest

About a month ago Ternopil State Medical University on its website launched first in a series of photo contests on the topic of student life. The Cultural Diversity contest was dedicated to Ukrainian traditions and university students studying them. During last year, TSMU worked closely with the Demkur Family Ethnography Gallery Heritage. EMSA members organized educational activities for the World Diabetes Day

On the occasion of the World Diabetes Day, Ternopil State Medical University students members of the European Medical Student Association, organized a series of events. During two weeks, the doctors-in-training learned about the methods of diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this disease, and taught city schoolchildren and students of other universities how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. International students competed in a trivia tournament

The organizers of a trivia tournament at Ternopil State Medical University wanted to offer the way the overseas students an interesting and meaningful way to spend extracurricular time. After the competition, the organizing committee consisting of Zoriana Lukashuk, Taisiia Bilonozhko, Yana Bondarchuk, and Yulia Bandrivskaya received lots of positive feedback. On November 17, 2017 Ternopil State Medical University students presented a concert program to celebrate International Students’ Day. A traditional event, this was a prefect opportunity for everyone to showcase their talents. Ternopil State Medical University Indian students celebrated Diwali

Ternopil State Medical University students from India, while away from their homeland, sustain national traditions. Recently, they celebrated one of their greatest holidays, Diwali. This festival is associated with fire and light, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The celebration was organized by the Association of Indian Students, and its president, fourth-year student Arshbeer Sandhu. Celebrating the festival, Indians adorn their homes with flowers and lanterns, make rangoli (patterns on the floor out of painted rice, powder dyes or flowers), and launch fireworks. European Medical Students’ Association held an open door meeting

TSMU students that form Ternopil branch of the European Medical Students’ Association recently held  an open door meeting in the administrative building of Ternopil State Medical University.
