The cooperation between the medical schools of Wrocław and Ternopil, and tradition of summer exchange visits for their students continues. Faculty of TSMU Department of Children’s Diseases and Pediatric Surgery took part in the events of the World PI Week

Every year on April 22-29, the World PI Week is observed to bring together patients, parents, doctors, junior medical staff, politicians and health organizers in promoting awareness of primary immunodeficiency diseases. This was the fourth year Ukraine joined events of the Week. TSMU students placed third in a simulation medicine competition in Poland

Team of Ternopil State Medical University, consisting of students of the Faculty of Medicine Bohdana Pereviznyk, Kateryna Vorobets, Nargiz Dzhavadova, Roman Huk and Ihor Bihar took the third place in the SimChallenge Student Competition on simulation medicine. Rector of Ternopil State Medical University signed a Collaboration Agreement with Elbląg University of Humanities and Economics

On February 18-21, 2018, a city of Ternopil delegation, including rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhaylo Korda, visited Elbląg, Poland. On the first day of the visit, Ternopil delegation met with the mayor of Elbląg, Witold Wróblewski. TSMU students placed second among international teams in emergency responders competition in Poland

The 13th International Winter Championship of Medical Rescuers (XIII Międzynarodowe Zimowe Mistrzostwa w Ratownictwie Medycznym) took place in the Polish town of Bielsko-Biała on January 23-26, 2018. A specialist in oncology radiotherapy and clinical oncology Dr. Andrzej Badzio on November 22, 2017 gave a talk Modern Methods of Radiotherapy in the Treatment of Cancer Diseases for lecturers and students of Ternopil State Medical University. Dr. Badzio received professional training at the University of Gdansk’s Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy under the supervision of Professor Jacek Jassem. At the invitation of Sylwester Czopek, rector of Rzeszow University, Poland, a delegation TSMU professors, including Vice-Rector for research, Dr. I.M. Klisch, associate professor of pediatrics V.B. On 27-30 September 68th Congress of the Association of Polish Surgeons took place in ICE Krakow Congress Centre in Poland with Prof Paweł Lampe as Chair of the Scientific Committee and Prof Piotr Richter as Chair of the Organising Committee. Traineeship of TSMU instructor at the Hematology Clinic of Wrocław Medical University

Cooperation between Ternopil State Medical University and Wrocław Medical University allows our university professors to train at the hospitals of the partner university. The most recent  training was a ten-day visit to the Clinic of Bone Marrow Transplantation, Pediatric Oncology and Hematology Przylądek Nadziei by TSMU instructor from the Department of Pediatrics  Natalia Luchyshyn. TSMU researchers started working on epidemiology, symptoms and prevention of Lyme borreliosis disease in different regions of Ukraine

On June 20-23, 2017, a group of researchers from Ternopil State Medical University Department of Infectious Diseases went on field trips to Zhytomyr region and Ternopil military unit В1428. The visits helped to assess awareness of Lyme borreliosis, in particular its epidemiology, major clinical signs and prevention, among risk groups (foresters and servicemen), and carry out clinical and laboratory studies to detect Lyme borreliosis in these populations.
