Students of TSMU raised public awareness for the National Stop the Bleed Day

Ternopil State Medical University students and members of Ternopil Youth Branch of the National Board of Resuscitation, organized an educational activity for the National Stop the Bleed Day. Taking place in the shopping center Podoliany, the event focused on developing practical skills. In the last three years, first aid instructors, paramedics, firefighters, military have been offering free trainings to the public, emphasizing the importance of being able to stop bleeding. Ternopil State Medical University students organized outreach events on the occasion World Tuberculosis Day

To build public awareness onthe World TB Day, a group of TSMU students organized a series of actions informing about the disease, its timely prevention and treatment. TSMU expert informed Ternopil residents about measles and the methods of its prevention

This winter season saw frequent reports in the media about the increase of cases of measles diseases in Ternopil region and Ukraine. Six cases of measles were reported in Ternopil region since the start of the year. Doctors recorded the most recent case on January 9. The percentage of vaccinated children aged 1 to 6 in Ternopil reached 98%, while the percentage of children of all ages who had been vaccinated is 76%. Ternopil State Medical University students of the organized an educational campaign

Several national educational events took place on October 20, the Ukrainian Day for Fight against Breast Cancer. Ternopil State Medical University students supported action, organizing a public awareness campaign informing Ternopil residents about this disease and methods of its prevention. TSMU Interns organized a cycle of lectures on medical topics for Ternopil secondary school students

For the last two weeks of April, Pediatrics interns of TSMU institute of postgraduate education led by professor Olha Dutchak met with pupils of Ternopil secondary school №9 to give talks on the topics Sexual Development, Basic Resuscitation, and Healthy Eating. During the conversation on Sexual development medical interns discussed with the pupils body changes during puberty, menstrual cycle, and why teenagers might experience mood swings.
