Students of Ternopil State Medical University participated the IX International Christian Medical Conference for Students

The IX International Christian Medical Students Conference (ICMA) took place in Vinnytsia on October 12-14, 2018 . This event was organized by the International Christian Medical Association in Ukraine (icmau.com). ICMA coordinators in Ternopil are TSMU students Idowu Gideon Oluwatobi, Bray Isaac, Agaren Daniel, Okoye Gloria, and Bakare Sandra. This year’s conference was attended by more than 300 participants from different universities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, and Sumy). The site 4 International Colleges & Universities published an updated ranking in January 2018 (https://www.4icu.org/ua/). TSMU scientists participated in the V National Congress of Pharmacologists

On October 18-20, 2017 Zaporozhye State Medical University hosted the V National Congress of Pharmacologists. Its organizers were a national public organization Association of Pharmacologists of Ukraine, state organization Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Zaporozhye State Medical University, and state enterprise State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Recently representatives of medical institutions from Sweden met with the Ternopil State Medical University rector Dr. Mykhaylo Korda to discuss areas of future cooperation. The Swedish delegation consisted of coordinator Marie Siestedt, cardiac surgeon Mogens Bugge, surgeon Patrik Cikota, professor C.G. TSMU international students took part in St. Andrew’s Day festivities

Winter time in Ukrainian culture is full of exciting folk festivals and traditions. One of the most interesting saint’s feasts is dedicated to St. Andrew, the patron saint of Ukraine. Traditionally, on St. Andrew’s Eve the youth got together to celebrate in a number of ways. Boys played pranks, while girls performed magic rituals to divine names of their future husbands. TSMU expands research collaborations with Polish colleagues

From December 5 to 9, Ternopil State Medical University delegation visited University of Warsaw at the invitation of the administration of this. The delegation included TSMU rector, Professor Mykhaylo Korda and Vice-rector for Research Professor Ivan Klisch. Egyptian Students Association of TSMU has new president

Recently, Egyptian Students Association of Ternopil State Medical University has elected its president. Of 56 students from this country casting their votes, 21 voted for Ahmed Salem Mohamed Abdelgawwad. Other candidates, Ahmed Nabil and Amr Zakaria received 20 and 17 votes respectively. Thus, Ahmed Salem Mohamed Abdelgawwad was declared winner of the election. Recently, Ternopil State Medical University students held Student Council elections. For almost all of the newly elected members this is the first time participating in student governance. Meeting of Ternopil branch of European Medical Students Association took place at TSMU

Ternopil State Medical University students, members of Ternopil branch of the European Medical Students Association on 2 December held a thematic meeting. Ternopil State Medical University researchers won a grant for a project on primary immune deficiencies

Pharmaceutical building of Ternopil State Medical University is one of the most attractive in the city

Academic building of Ternopil State Medical University on 36 Ruska, which houses the Faculty of Pharmacy, has recently been extensively renovated. The new facade, roof, and doors are all kept in the same style, creating a harmonious overall impression. The building is on the register of cultural heritage of Ukraine. TSMU Student Science Society promotes research among their peers

Recently, Ternopil State Medical University students interested in pursuing research projects, together with Student Council and Student Science Society organized a meeting with the head of SSS Kateryna Halei. During the meeting participants learned about making first steps in science, how to develop their research ideas, and how to write scientific publications. Young researchers received information about participation in conferences, forums, congresses in Ukraine and abroad.   Kateryna Halei also spoke about Student Science Society activities, its goals, objectives and achievements.

Association of Indian students in Ternopil State Medical University elected new chairman

On 18 November students from India studying at Ternopil State Medical University voted for a new chairman of the Association of Indian students. Arshbeer Sandhu, a third year student, was elected for this office. During presentation of his program Arshbeer said that he would do everything to bring students together even more. He added that it is important to take care of each representative of the Indian Brotherhood, help them in solving their problems. On 10 November Student Scholar Society of Ternopil State Medical University organized a trivia game the fellowstudents on “milestones in the history of Ternopil State Medical University.” Participating in the competition were members of SSS, as well as students of medical and dental faculties.
