On April 26, 2024, during an online panel discussion within the framework of the \u201cUA-UK Biosecurity Field Visit\u201d conference, the results of the partnership between Ternopil National Medical University and the University of Manchester were presented. The Twin For Hope project was initiated by the Cormack Consultancy Group with the support of Universities UK and the Ukrainian President\u2019s Fund for the Support of Education, Science and Sports in response to Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion of Ukraine to support the country\u2019s scientists and educators.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was organized by King\u2019s College London as part of the USAID Resilience and Recovery Project. We express our appreciation to Dr. Gemma Bowsher (Lead for Global Health Security from the Centre for Conflict and Health Research at King\u2019s College London) for the opportunity to present our experience and developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TNMU was represented by Professor Oksana Shevchuk, and the Medical School of the University of Manchester was represented by the Director of Undergraduate Medical Studies, Professor Margaret Kingston and Associate Program Director MBChB: Staff Development and Lead for Professionals in Medical Education: PRiME Dr. Jess Grundy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the attention of the participants, both sides presented the directions and results of joint work over the past two years, aimed at supporting the teaching staff of TNMU from colleagues at the University of Manchester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the discussion, the speakers noted that it is not only about the exchange of best practices and cultural traditions from both sides, but also about the acquired experience of stability, flexibility, optimism and tireless work in order for students in Ukraine during the war to receive advanced knowledge and develop as future successful professionals in the field of medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
