Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University is a leader in medical education in Ukraine, taking first place in national and international rankings of higher education institutions. TNMU prepares specialists in the field of \u201cHealth care\u201d at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd levels of higher education according to training programs (TP), which are accredited by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance and provide for the awarding of professional qualifications of bachelor\u2019s, master\u2019s, doctor of philosophy in the fields of \u201cMedicine \u201c, \u201cPharmacy\u201d, \u201cDentistry\u201d, \u201cNursing\u201d, \u201cTherapy and rehabilitation\u201d, \u201cPaediatrics\u201d. The educational process at TNMU is provided by 650 highly qualified research and teaching staff, including 118 doctors of science and 500 candidates of science\/doctors of philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">According to the Law of Ukraine \u201cOn Medicinal Products\u201d, a \u201cpharmacovigilance specialist\u201d is a person with a higher education (master\u2019s degree in the relevant field of knowledge 22 \u201cHealth care\u201d) with professional qualifications: doctor, dentist, psychologist, paediatrician, pharmacist. During training of all applicants at TNMU, considerable attention is paid to the problem of safe and rational use of drugs and immunobiological agents. At the pre-diploma level, pharmacovigilance issues are included in the training program \u201cGeneral Medicine\u201d, \u201cMedicine\u201d, \u201cPharmacy\u201d \u201cPharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy\u201d. In the process of training doctors, the monitoring system and the safety of the use of medicines are discussed during the study of the compulsory discipline \u201cPharmacology\u201d and the elective course \u201cSide Effects of Drugs\u201d. In addition to pharmacology, students majoring in \u201cPharmacy\u201d study the principles of pharmacovigilance in the elective disciplines \u201cSide Effects of Drugs\u201d and \u201cDrug Interactions\u201d.<a href=\"https:\/\/dev.tdmu.edu.ua\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image005-5-e1710178567760.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"345\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image005-5-345x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-71459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image005-5-345x460.jpg 345w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image005-5-101x135.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image005-5-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/image005-5.jpg 789w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 345px) 100vw, 345px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">In order to train pharmacovigilance specialists at the post-graduate level, TNMU has introduced the TP \u201cPharmacovigilance: a fundamental course for training a professional\u201d, postgraduate level of higher education (specialization \u2013 3 months) in the field of knowledge \u201cHealth care\u201d Qualification: \u201cProfessional of pharmacovigilance\u201d. Admission to the specialization course will be based on a specialist diploma of a dentist, paediatrician, pharmacist (pharmacologist) and involves 36 ECTS credits. During training, the acquisition of professional practical skills and abilities, the building of professional readiness for independent activity in the field of pharmacovigilance, the development of a pharmacovigilance professional as an organizer and coordinator of pharmacovigilance in the health care system or in the pharmacovigilance system of the applicant\/registration certificate holder will take place. The program is based on modern scientific data, recommendations of good practices, regarding the implementation of pharmacovigilance and principles of evidence-based medicine in the field of modern medical care.
