On February 28-March 3, 2024, the annual European Congress of Radiologists ECR2024 was held in Vienna (Austria), which is one of the largest medical meetings in Europe and the second in the world among radiologists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ECR is a leading event in radiology, which gathers professionals from all corners of the world \u2013 Europe, North and South America, Asia, and gives an opportunity to present your country on the international stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s topic of the meeting has been \u201cNext generation radiology\u201d. The congress embodied the desire not only to stay ahead, but also to define the future of medical imaging, keeping pace with the latest technologies. In the centre of the event is the recent breakthrough of artificial intelligence (AI) both in the lives of ordinary people and in the lives of doctors. Radiologists found themselves on the threshold of a new era \u2013 the era of \u201cnext generation radiology\u201d. \u201cCan AI simplify the work of doctors\u201d, \u201cWhat questions to ask to get effective answers\u201d and \u201cWill AI replace the work of radiologists\u201d \u2013 all these questions were discussed at the congress. In particular, in order to emphasize the need for cooperation between doctors and artificial intelligence, the opening ceremony was hosted by human-robot Amika, who also presented her view on the future of radiology.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maya Deresh, a 6th-year student of TNMU Faculty of Medicine, also witnessed the birth of a new generation in radiology. During five days, she had the opportunity to attend various lectures, quests, interactive sections with clinical case studies, communicate with leading specialists from Europe and the whole world, and even take part in a prize draw.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants had the opportunity to use VR glasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the congress, a stand from the Association of Radiologists of Ukraine was presented, where doctors had the opportunity to talk about their organization, research, and also discuss the problems of radiologists\u2019 work in wartime conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ECR covered all areas of the radiology arena \u2013 specialist radiologists, radiographers, physicists, industry representatives, and reporters from both the medical and consumer press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the ever-evolving field of medical imaging, radiologists continue to play a key role in the transformation of healthcare. The ECR 2024 Congress brought together advanced technologies and innovations in the field of medicine, thereby ushering in a new generation of radiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
