On February 19, 2024, students of TNMU Faculty of Medicine Olena Iskra (MM-416) and Diana Malyshevska (MM-416) gave a lecture on the topic \u201cAll about electronic cigarettes and energy drinks\u201d for the 5th-grade students of Ternopil Academic Lyceum \u201cIvan Franko Ukrainian Gymnasium\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of the event was to tell children and teenagers about what an electronic cigarette and energy drinks are, what substances they contain, why a person develops addiction and how it happens, what harm electronic cigarettes and energy drinks bring. TNMU students also presented the research, the purpose of which was to convince children of the harmfulness of these things.
During the lectures, the children listened attentively and asked questions from time to time. This lecture was useful and interesting for them, because the relevance of the consumption of electronic cigarettes and energy boosters is relevant both among children and among the adult population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most frequent questions of children were \u201cWhat is more harmful \u2013 an electronic cigarette or an energy drink?\u201d, \u201cWhy is an electronic cigarette more dangerous?\u201d, \u201cWhat is the amount of alcohol consumed?\u201d, \u201cDoes energy drink harm a child and an adult?\u201d, \u201cWhat will happen to a person who drinks energy drink?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the lectures, the children learned the information and drew their own conclusions from it. The most important thing is to understand the importance and usefulness of the information they heard in class.
