On January 31, 2024, the provider license course in tactical medicine (TCCC \u2013 Tactical \u0421ombat \u0421asualty \u0421are) by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians of the USA was launched in TNMU. It lasted for six days. The main goal of the course is the training of certified instructors from among the teachers of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine, as well as the creation of a tactical medicine training center (NAEMT Training Center). The Center will operate on the basis of this department and TNMU Center for Medical Simulation. Viktor Shatskyi, Associate Professor of the Department of Disaster Medicine and Military Medicine, said that the Center will provide tactical medicine trainings by TNMU instructors for soldiers, law enforcement officers and others according to TCCC and NATO guidelines. Upon completion of the training, international certificates that are recognized in the world will be issued to the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe will offer one-day to one-week courses, depending on requests. The general course on practicing basic skills will last for one day. There will be separate training for rescue fighters and the course is designed for 40 hours. There will also be a 64-hour training course for people with medical education. For this purpose, we specifically invited an experienced specialist, Michael Meoli, who teaches and certifies tactical medicine training centers in Ukraine,\u201d Viktor Shatskyi added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Meoli is an experienced military paramedic who helps the Ukrainian military gain the necessary knowledge and skills in tactical medicine, as well as trains instructors and certifies training centers so that as many defenders as possible can gain life-saving knowledge and skills. \u201cI respond to proposals for opening similar centers and certifying instructors, because this is my important mission and my contribution to the victory of Ukraine. I have been working in this field for over 40 years. During my career, I visited 60 countries, but Ukraine became my favorite one. This is my eighth visit. The first time I came to Ukraine was in September 2014 and the second time I returned already during the full-scale invasion. Today, I spend more time in Ukraine than in the United States. I cannot say the exact number of training centers that have been opened over the past two years, but in general, these centers train almost 10,000 people every month,\u201d Michael Meoli said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing the training, on February 5, 2024, Michael Meoli presented the Rector of TNMU Mykhaylo Korda with a certificate confirming that the Training Center for tactical medicine from the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians \u2013 NAEMT Training Center \u2013 started its work at Ternopil National Medical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
