On October 12, the world community celebrates World Sight Day. This global event was initiated by the World Health Organization (WHO) to draw attention to blindness and vision impairment worldwide. According to the organization, there are about 300 million people in the world who have visual impairments.
That is why an open lesson on the subject \u201cFundamentals of Health\u201d was held in Ternopil Secondary School No. 24 for the 7th-grade students. Third-year students of the Faculty of Medicine of Ternopil National Medical University, Nadia Stratiuk and Solomia Faka, prepared a presentation for schoolchildren on the topic \u201cKeep your sight \u2013 always be happy\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal of the event was to draw the attention of teenagers to the importance of careful treatment of vision and timely preventive consultation with an ophthalmologist.
During the presentation, the reasons for the deterioration of visual acuity were discussed, as well as the main rules of a healthy lifestyle, which have a positive effect on this sense organ, were emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students paid attention to:
\u2013 the complexity of the structure and functioning of such a sense organ as the eye;
\u2013 probable causes of visual impairment;
\u2013 the first signs of vision impairment;
\u2013 the most common ophthalmological diseases;
\u2013 ways of vision improvement.
During the lecture, the students had the opportunity to ask questions that they were curious about and participated in simple and effective eye exercises to relieve tension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
