A new version of the Webometrics ranking (Ranking Web of Universities \u2013 https:\/\/www.webometrics.info\/en\/Europe\/Ukraine%20) was recently published, which reflects the activities of higher education institutions during the first half of 2023. Ternopil National Medical University took first place among medical universities of Ukraine and tenth among 200 Ukrainian institutions of higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When determining the position of the university in the rating, the developers take into account the following indicators:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visibility<\/strong> \u2013 the number of external sources that contain backlinks to the institution\u2019s web pages \u2013 calculated according to the indicators of Ahrefs and Majestic tools \u2013 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transparency<\/strong> \u2013 the number of citations by top authors of the institution according to Google Scholar Citations \u2013 10%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excellence<\/strong> \u2013 the number of articles by the institution\u2019s researchers that are among the 10% most cited in 27 disciplines according to Scimago calculations \u2013 40%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Webometrics rating has been compiled since 2004 by one of the largest scientific institutions in Europe \u2013 the National Research Council of Spain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal of the rating is to promote academic presence on the Internet, maintain open access to significantly increase the transfer of scientific and cultural knowledge in universities around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
