Oksana Shevchuk, Professor of the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, took part in the training \u201cResearch Vetting, Individual Cybersecurity, and Knowledge Security Training for Ukrainian Researchers\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On May 30-31, 2023, a two-day training course for Ukrainian scientists was organized by the international intergovernmental organization Science and Technology Centre in Ukraine (STCU) in cooperation with the non-profit global security organization \u201cCoalescion\u201d with the assistance of USAID in Prague (Czech Republic).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the training, the participants gained new knowledge and skills on the topics of website security, phishing, methods of securing personal data and electronic mailboxes, risk assessment and personal responsibility, issues of conducting scientific research and data preservation, dual-purpose technologies, issues of intellectual property and technology transfer and security in the context of the challenges faced when building new collaborations and funding work under unforeseen circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n

  • Evaluation of research and opportunities for funding, collaboration or employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Technology transfer and stages\/decision points from an individual researcher\u2019s perspective<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Risk assessment tools to strengthen security in research activities<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Trends and solutions in the field of cyber security<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Dual-use threats and risks related to infrastructure, materials, consumables and information<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Internet Protocol (IP) protection, including navigation strategies in uncertain contexts<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Scientific ethics (common standards, best practices and avoiding pitfalls).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
