On May 14-20, 2023, Lina Bahniy, Assistant Professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology No. 2, completed internship in the course \u201cMaternal and Infant Health\u201d as part of the Open Medical Institute (OMI) international training seminar jointly with Columbia University, held at Schloss Arenberg in Salzburg, Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Open Medical Institute (OMI) is an international platform for medical professionals that, through education and research, aims to improve healthcare on a global scale. OMI seminars are offered to highly qualified, English-speaking doctors from Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, co-financed by the Austrian Foundation of the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. Over the years, many leading medical institutions in the United States and Europe have joined the initiative, providing highly qualified staff who share experience and knowledge with colleagues from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with the participants of the OMI training seminar \u201cMaternal and Infant Health 2023\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

34 participants took part in this internship and had the opportunity to present the results of their own research and unique clinical cases. Invited lecturers from the United States of America shared information new clinical protocols, experience and interesting practical cases for 7 days. During the panel discussions, members of the research faculty and participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speakers and put forward their points of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically interesting were the workshops with Prof. Russel Miller and Jeen-Ju Sheen on the topics: \u201cDiagnosis and management of twin pregnancy\u201d, \u201cSee one, sim one, do one: the obstetrics simulation program\u201d, \u201cStaying alive: Maternal cardiac arrest\u201d, where there was an opportunity to discuss this obstetric problem in detail according to the algorithms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the workshop \u201cPostpartum hemorrhage\u201d with Ass. Prof. Jeen-Ju Sheen, USA<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to improve professional qualifications and exchange experience regarding issues of diagnosis, counseling, tactics of pregnancy, childbirth and prevention of obstetric and perinatal complications in women with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, Ass. Prof. Lina Bahniy presented an oral report on the topic: \u201cDelayed interval delivery in multifetal pregnancy\u201d, highlighting the results of scientific research as part of the dissertation work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u200bDuring the award ceremony, faculty members Richard A. Polin, Friedrich Reitener, Russel S. Miller, Jean-Ju Sheen, Martin Keszler, Josef Neu<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this \u201cMaternal and Infant Health\u201d seminar, each participant was tested after receiving a course of lectures. In connection with the impeccable work of the lecturers and the assimilation of the scientific material, Ass. Prof. Lina Bahniy passed this test with the highest score among all participants, which is confirmed by the \u201cFor Academic Excellence\u201d certificate, which allows one to complete an internship in famous clinics in Austria for a month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event is a unique for presenting the results of one\u2019s own scientific research, as well as for getting acquainted with new clinical protocols and therapeutic approaches based on the discussion of clinical cases and participation in simulation workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
