As part of cooperation with the World Health Organization, Ternopil National Medical University received a \u201cToyota Hiace\u201d class B ambulance car for educational purposes. The Head of the Simulation Training Centre, Halyna Tsymbaliuk mentions that the presence of such a machine will significantly enhance the material and technical providing of the university and improve the training of emergency medical care specialists while mastering the skills of transporting critical patients. This car will be used during practical classes, since in Ukraine there is an acute issue of effective inter-hospital transportation and the availability of medical personnel proficient enough for this. Students will practice the skills of working as an emergency aid team in a car, setting up logistics, and using equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car is equipped with a \u201cLovtec\u201d nebulizer, a 3A pulse oximeter, a \u201cYASEE\u201d glucometer, an automatic external defibrillator \u201cHeart guardian\u201d, frame stretchers (2 pcs), a 3A infusion machine, an \u201cEPV 200\u201d breathing apparatus, a manual aspirator, a neck collar, an electric 3A PMS aspirator -A, laryngoscope.
In addition, within the framework of the cooperation agreement on the basis of the Simulation Training Centre, emergency medical care specialists (doctors and paramedics) are trained in three programs: \u201cManagement of critical patients and trauma victims\u201d, \u201cManagement of critical paediatric patients\u201d, \u201cPeculiarities of work of emergency medical aid teams in the conditions of a mass incident\u201d. Accordingly, this vehicle will be used in the training of those teams that have given voluntary consent to work in the de-occupied territories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A transport breathing apparatus \u201cHamilton-T1\u201d, a patient monitor and a defibrillator with a cardiac stimulation function, a device for mechanical compression of the chest, which are already used in the initial process, were previously received from WHO. This equipment enables a team with limited human resources to provide care to a patient with sudden circulatory arrest. Teachers and instructors will synchronize the use of the received equipment in an emergency vehicle, so that students and other participants can master the skills of working with this equipment directly in an ambulance.
The car will also be used during the training of paramedics and students of the Faculty of Medicine.
