Close cooperation of Ternopil National Medical University with MacEwan University (https:\/\/www.macewan.ca\/home\/) and the Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre  (https:\/\/www.macewan.ca\/academics\/centres-institutes\/ukrainian-resource- and-development-centre\/) has been going on for over 10 years. During this time, three grant projects were implemented, and repeated bilateral exchanges of teachers and students were held. In addition, a joint Canadian-Ukrainian course \u201cGlobal Health\u201d was launched with the involvement of the educational community of both universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January 2023, as part of the aforementioned cooperation, TNMU received as a gift six Arterial Stick Arm Kit\u00ae sets for intravenous injections, which give an opportunity to master practical skills by the university students in the Academic and Research Institute of Nursing and Simulation Training Centre. By the way, the latter is equipped with a separate clinical skills room named after McEwan University, in which, in addition to the Arterial Arm Stick Trainer, there are other mannequins for mastering practical skills, including the multi-functional Nursing Kelly mannequin with the SimPad\u00ae system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arterial Stick Arm Kit\u00ae includes: 1 adult right arm, 1 replacement set of skin and vessels, 1 bottle of blood-simulating fluid, 1 can of lubricant, 1 set of shoulder attachments, 1 carrying case and instructions for use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the help of the kit, you can practice the manipulation of blood sampling for laboratory tests, intravenous jet and intravenous drip administration of medicines. The flexible wrist ensures the correct position of the hand during manipulations, the blood pressure can be generated manually, it is possible to seal the system, which ensures the backflow of blood in the syringe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
