Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The event was divided into three strategic sessions: Systems, Society and People, each lasting 3 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"346\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image001-5-346x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146695\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image001-5-346x460.jpg 346w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image001-5-101x135.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image001-5-200x266.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image001-5.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The program of the event was very intense, but also clearly structured, and included homework and group assignments, work with cases in small groups, reading, and many discussions and interactions. Reputable and charismatic speakers with extremely interesting and relevant topics that logically complemented each other, as well as dialogue and interaction with colleagues, medical educators from different parts of Ukraine\u2014Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Odesa, Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Ternopil\u2014created an unforgettable atmosphere of the School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"691\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image004-2-691x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146697\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image004-2-691x460.jpg 691w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image004-2-203x135.jpg 203w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image004-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image004-2-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image004-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 691px) 100vw, 691px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The first session was solemnly opened by <strong>Serhii Kvit<\/strong>, President of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, with a report titled Education as Ability, Responsibility, and Need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"690\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image005-5-690x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146699\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image005-5-690x460.jpg 690w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image005-5-202x135.jpg 202w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image005-5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image005-5-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image005-5.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Pavlo Kovtoniuk<\/strong>, co-founder of the Ukrainian Healthcare Center (UHC) and one of the architects of healthcare financing reform in Ukraine, former Deputy Minister of Health, continued the session with a methodical and in-depth discussion of healthcare systems (we finally got the hang of it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"346\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image008-2-346x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146701\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image008-2-346x460.jpg 346w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image008-2-101x135.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image008-2-200x266.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image008-2.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Next, <strong>Oleksandr Linchevskyi<\/strong>, Chief Medical Director of the Dobrobut network and surgeon at the SSU Military Medical Department, spoke about medical education, and <strong>Yevhen Hlibovytskyi<\/strong>, an expert on long-term strategies, presented a report on Peculiarities of Relations between Citizens and the State in Ukraine and Their Impact on the Formation of Trust. <strong>Andriy Vyshnevsky<\/strong>, an expert in civil service and justice reform, presented a modern view of the political philosophy of health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"691\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image009-5-691x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image009-5-691x460.jpg 691w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image009-5-203x135.jpg 203w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image009-5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image009-5-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image009-5.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 691px) 100vw, 691px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">A lot of information, discussions, questions, group interaction, and reflections. The first session is now closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">On June 13-15, the School participants came to Lviv to continue their studies. The second session was devoted to worldview, philosophy, and the search for the meaning of life. <strong>Sviatoslav Motren<\/strong>, a lecturer at UCU, presented a complex and profound topic on Political Philosophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"691\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image011-5-691x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146705\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image011-5-691x460.jpg 691w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image011-5-203x135.jpg 203w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image011-5-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image011-5-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image011-5.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 691px) 100vw, 691px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The highlight of the session was the presentation by <strong>Myroslav Marynovych<\/strong>, a well-known Ukrainian public figure, founding member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, dissident and political prisoner. Peculiarities of Ukrainian Identity and Nation-Building was the title of his report. \u201cMoral hemophilia\u201d, \u2018atamanism\u2019, \u2018identity networking\u2019, \u2018unity in diversity\u2019 were the key concepts that were discussed in detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"688\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image013-3-688x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146707\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image013-3-688x460.jpg 688w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image013-3-202x135.jpg 202w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image013-3-768x514.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image013-3-200x134.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image013-3.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 688px) 100vw, 688px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">The next day, we worked on ethics and leadership at the author&#8217;s course by <strong>Matvii Khrenov<\/strong>, co-founder of the Ukrainian Healthcare Center, Advisor to the Minister of Health of Ukraine (2018-2020), Advisor to the Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine (2020-2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"690\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image015-2-690x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146709\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image015-2-690x460.jpg 690w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image015-2-202x135.jpg 202w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image015-2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image015-2-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image015-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">This session was also memorable for the meeting with <strong>Andrii Liubka<\/strong>, a writer, novelist, and volunteer. He presented a report based on his book of the same name, <em>Friend or Foe. The curator of the third session, <strong>Natalia Riabtseva<\/strong>, co-founder of UHC, lecturer at the School of Healthcare Management at the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Deputy Head of the National Health Service of Ukraine (2019-2020), Head of the Office for Healthcare Financing Reform Implementation at the Ministry of Health (2017-2019), provided an atmosphere of lightness and interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Valerii Pekar<\/strong>, a public figure, lecturer at the Kyiv Mohyla Business School and the Business School of the Ukrainian Catholic University, presented an interesting topic on the Evolution of Thinking, Leadership and Management. The presentation was based on Valerii&#8217;s book <em>Multicolored Management<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"613\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image021-2-613x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146715\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image021-2-613x460.jpg 613w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image021-2-180x135.jpg 180w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image021-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image021-2-200x150.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image021-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 613px) 100vw, 613px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">At this session, the report \u201cEthics of Decision Making\u201d by Fr. <strong>Pavlo Hud<\/strong>, a priest of the UGCC and deputy dean of the UCU Faculty of Social Sciences, was unforgettable. It seems that we have never solved so many ethical dilemmas. The discussions about good and evil, about why good people sometimes do bad things, made everyone plunge into philosophical reflections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"346\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image024-1-346x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image024-1-346x460.jpg 346w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image024-1-101x135.jpg 101w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image024-1-200x266.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image024-1.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 346px) 100vw, 346px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">As always, the sessions were filled with readings and discussions, but this time our interaction was coordinated by <strong>Bohdana Neborak<\/strong>, a Ukrainian journalist, lawyer, cultural manager, literary critic, and host of the Untitled podcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"692\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image025-2-692x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146719\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image025-2-692x460.jpg 692w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image025-2-203x135.jpg 203w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image025-2-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image025-2-200x133.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image025-2.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 692px) 100vw, 692px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">We discussed the short story <em>Frogs in the Sea<\/em> by Ukrainian writer Tania Maliarchuk,\u2014written in German, for which the author received the Austrian Ingeborg Bachmann Literary Prize (2018),\u2014a fragment of Myroslav Laiuk&#8217;s <em>Bakhmut<\/em>, as well as <em>Having Time to Live<\/em> (about how food, literature, and history speak of the same thing), and Susan Sontag&#8217;s <em>Illness as Metaphor<\/em>.
