At the end of September 2022, TNMU Department of Public Health and Health Care Management organized online the fourth scientific symposium with international participation on public health \u201cPublic health in the social and educational dimensions \u2013 challenges in the conditions of globalization of society and prospects for development\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking into account the initiative of students and staff of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University regarding the production of trench candles, the department\u2019s staff decided to transfer part of the funds received from the payment of organizational fees for the symposium to the purchase of paraffin. Representatives of the Department of Public Health and Health Care Management invite their university colleagues, who actively participate in the organization of scientific events, to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the initiator of the campaign \u201cWarm our defenders\u201d Associate Professor Olena Pokryshko noted: \u201cThe student team that makes trench candles works very quickly and uses all materials. Every time they run out of materials, one of the teachers or Ternopil residents brings them everything they need. It is very nice that the representatives of the departments of our university support the volunteering activities of the students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We express our appreciation to professors Olha Denefil and Nadiia Yarema for their constant support and express our gratitude to Professor Stepan Vadziuk, who brought 20 kg of paraffin to the team of volunteers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology and Neurosurgery, Kateryna Aleksevych, took part in the giveaway lottery of a paper-twisting tool. She managed to win a device that she gave to our volunteers. \u201cFrankly speaking, I rarely win anything. I knew that our university made trench candles, so after seeing information about the giveaway on the Internet, I decided to give it a try. I am very glad that we now have a paper shredder, it will significantly speed up work,\u201d Ms. Kateryna said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associate Professor Marta Rudenko, representatives of the Department of Pathological Physiology (Ruslan Usynskyi, Olena Kulianda and Kateryna Yuriiiv) also contributed to the work of the team. Our volunteers have significant support from the residents of Ternopil, who bring the necessary materials to the buildings of TNMU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
