Professor Harald Teufelsbauer of the Vienna Medical University, who is a long-time friend and honorary professor of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, arrived in Ukraine on October 13, 2022 and presented a set of expensive American-made instruments for the needs of the vascular surgery department of the Ternopil Regional Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scanlan International (https:\/\/www.scanlaninternational.com\/) has been a leader in the manufacture of surgical instruments since 1921. On September 16, Professor Harald Teufelsbauer received a response to his request from the company. The letter stated that the management of \u201cScanlan International\u201d thanks for the sent request asking to help Mr. Harald in fulfilling his humanitarian mission in Ukraine. They expressed their confidence that the surgical instruments and other surgical equipment provided free of charge will help save the lives of Ukrainians in these difficult times. \u201cScanlan International\u201d transferred various titanium products worth almost 60 thousand US dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Titanium is a light and durable material. It enables the surgeon to better feel their movements and perform all manipulations more precisely. With the help of titanium instruments, all operative interventions are performed in the most convenient way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Teufelsbauer is a well-known specialist in the field of vascular surgery, who uses the technique of open surgery and minimally invasive endovascular interventions for the treatment of aneurysms and vascular thrombosis. This is Harald Teufelsbauer\u2019s second visit to our city since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. In the summer, he also came to Ternopil to operate on wounded servicemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We express our heartfelt appreciation to Harald Teufelsbauer and the company \u201cScanlan International\u201d for this important contribution to the work of the vascular surgery service of our region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
