On September 29-30, 2022, I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University hosted all-Ukrainian scientific-applied conference with international participation \u201cProspects for the development of medical and physical rehabilitation at different levels of medical care\u201d. The event was organized by the Department of Medical Rehabilitation and Department of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physical Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking into account the martial law regimen in Ukraine, and in order to ensure the maximum safety of the participants, the conference was held online. The conference was broadcast on the YouTube channel, which made it possible to significantly expand the audience, because any specialist from all over the world could participate in its work. In total, 235 participants officially registered at the conference, and more than 1,000 participants visited the broadcast channel every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the work of the conference, two plenary meetings were held \u2013 a breakout session on cardiorehabilitation and thematic workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The online format of the conference made it possible to ensure not only a wide audience of listeners, but also to invite speakers from different regions of Ukraine and foreign countries. At the conference, scientists and practicioners from all over Ukraine, including from Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Lviv, Poltava, Lutsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, Dnipro, etc., had the opportunity to present their work. The international level was provided by speakers from Katowice, Bia\u0142a Podlaska, \u017bywiec and Pozna\u0144.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the sessions, 34 scientific reports were presented and discussed, and 10 workshops were held. Based on the materials of the conference, a collection of papers of the conference participants was published.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The topics of the conference covered a wide range of problems and related to the definition of strategic tasks and prospects for the development of medical and physical rehabilitation, the organization of the rehabilitation system in Ukraine, the issue of training personnel for rehabilitation services, the development of rehabilitation programs and rehabilitation technologies in the restorative treatment of various pathologies based on the International Classification of Functioning. Of course, the main issue in the work of the conference was the provision of complex rehabilitation assistance to servicemen, their family members and internally displaced persons. At the same time, special attention was paid to psychological assistance to victims of hostilities, as an indispensable component of the complex of rehabilitation measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the chairman of the organizing committee, Rector of TNMU, Professor Mykhaylo Korda<\/strong>, the Vice-Rector for Science, Education and Clinical Affairs, Professor Stepan Zaporozhan<\/strong>, wished success and effective work to the participants of the scientific event. He drew attention to the fact that more and more attention is being paid to the development of medical and physical rehabilitation in the world and in Ukraine. In the conditions of war and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, the effective functioning of the rehabilitation system in Ukraine is extremely important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plenary session was opened by the co-chairman of the organizing committee, Professor\u00a0Ihor Mysula<\/strong>, with a report \u201cThe role of the REHAB project in the formation of a European approach to the training of physical therapy specialists in Ukraine. TNMU experience\u201d. He focused the audience\u2019s attention on the extremely important problem of practical training and objective assessment of the level of training of future physical therapy specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plenary session with the report \u201cCurrent problems in the rehabilitation system of Ukraine. Ways to overcome it\u201d continued Professor of P. L. Shupyk National Healthcare University, Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine\u00a0Oleksandr Vladimirov<\/strong>. In particular, he noted that Ukraine has created a system for training specialists in all rehabilitation specialties, they are included in the classifier of professions, and the Verkhovna Rada and the Ministry of Health of Ukraine continue to reorganize the regulatory framework for the work of relevant specialists and the creation of jobs in medical institutions for such specialists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The issue of high-quality practical training of specialists studying at TNMU in specialty \u201cPhysical therapy, occupational therapy\u201d and their participation in the rehabilitation process at the clinical facilities of TNMU in medical institutions of the city of Ternopil and the region was discussed in the report of the co-chair of the organizing committee, Professor\u00a0Dariia Popovych<\/strong>, on the topic \u201cInvolvement of TNMU students studying in specialty\u201d Physical therapy, occupational therapy\u201d to complex rehabilitation of patients at the clinical facilities of the university.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
