On December 7 we celebrate World Ukrainian Kerchief Day. This is an unofficial annual holiday, which aims to unite women of different professions, ages and nationalities to preserve Ukrainian traditions. After all, it is the Ukrainian kerchief that unites women and is passed on as a family value from mother to daughter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The bright, colourful Ukrainian kerchief is an integral part of the national cultural heritage. From time immemorial, it has been not only a mandatory headdress for married women, but also a special relic passed from generation to generation, a symbol of affection, love, fidelity, forgiveness, sorrow and, of course, a talisman.<\/p>\n

Every nation has its own shrine.<\/em><\/p>\n

And for Ukrainians \u2013an embroidered kerchief<\/em><\/p>\n

Holy symbol of happiness and tenderness in hearts<\/em><\/p>\n

Like this spring flowering kerchief.<\/em><\/p>\n

Amazing and unique Ukrainian kerchiefs are smiling with mallows and winking with mysterious ornaments. They combine restrained colours and elegant drawings, bright colours and delicate patterns that emphasize the tenderness and sophistication of Ukrainian women, their natural beauty.<\/p>\n

The employees of the TNMU Library celebrated the World Day of the Ukrainian Kerchief with a flash mob\u00a0\u201cUkrainian Handkerchief \u2013 Family Berehynia (Guardian)\u201d<\/a>, to watch a video follow the\u00a0Library YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

We welcome everyone to take pictures with a Ukrainian kerchief. Photographs can be taken on the subscription unit to the scientific literature of the TNMU Library (8 Sichovykh Striltsiv Street) on December 8, 9 and 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
