Every year on January 26, India celebrates the anniversary of the creation of the Republic. The history of the holiday dates back to August 15, 1947, when the independence of India, formerly a British colony, was proclaimed. And on January 26, 1950, a constitution was approved for all states of the country. On that day, the first national flag was raised under the leadership of the President Rajendra Prasad at that time. The Republic Day is a holiday when festivals of folk dances and music, theatre performances and other cultural events are organized to honour it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Today, more than 1,000 students from India study at Ternopil National Medical University. On January 26, 2022, in the courtyard of TNMU administrative building, five representatives from each state of this country solemnly raised the Indian flag and sang the national anthem.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Professor Petro Selskyi, the Dean of the International Students Faculty, wished the participants of the event prosperity to their country, successful studying, professional realization, and peace around the world. Associate Professor Olena Pokryshko, the Deputy Head of the Department of Educational Work and Cultural Development, also congratulated Indian students on the holiday.<\/p>\n

In addition, in the evening a modern Indian film was presented at the library of TNMU following the quarantine requirements.<\/p>\n
