Ivan Semenovych Smiyan had headed Ternopil Medical University (at that time Institute) for 16 years, in 1981-1997. Despite twilight years, he always thinks of our university, he is interested in its development and achievements, as well as the university students\u2019 life and success.<\/p>\n

Ivan Smiyan congratulated the youth on the occasion of the 61st<\/sup>\u00a0graduation of doctors of the Faculty of Medicine, the 17th<\/sup>\u00a0graduation of pharmacists of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the 13th<\/sup>\u00a0graduation of doctors of the Faculty of Dentistry and the 24th<\/sup>\u00a0graduation of the Academic and Research Institute of Nursing, the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0graduation of masters in Public Health and the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0graduation of paramedics. He wished everyone, who received a diploma of TNMU on June 24, 2021, to carry on their professional development, to have ambitious goals and to achieve them with confidently.<\/p>\n

Ivan Semenovich relied on his own life experience. Today he is a famous Ukrainian scientist in medicine, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Higher School of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, author and co-author of more than 700 scientific and educational works, including 72 monographs, manuals, brochures, lectures. Ivan Smiyan is well-known for his great persistence in work: three years after graduating from university, working as a general practitioner, he defended his PhD thesis, and 10 years later \u2013 a doctoral thesis, 5 years later his first single-handed monograph was published.<\/p>\n

On a well-deserved retirement, Ivan Semenovych continues inspired work: he published 32 books of memoirs.<\/p>\n
