The Congress has been held for 18 years and annually is attended by more than 600 participants from around the world. The Congress provides an opportunity for ambitious young scientists from around the world to present their research papers in the form of poster and oral presentations. In addition, more than 35 practical seminars and many lectures by world scientists were delivered over four days. The program of the International Congress of Medical Sciences was divided into four main sections:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Section 1: Preclinical sciences, research areas: pharmacology, anatomy, biology, biophysics, histology, physiology, pathophysiology, genetics, microbiology, etc.;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Section 2: Internal medicine, research areas: cardiology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, neurology, rheumatology, etc.;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Section 3: Surgery, research areas: gastroenterological surgery, cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, endocrine surgery, paediatric surgery, neurosurgery, transplantation, emergency surgery, maxillofacial surgery, etc.;<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Section 4: Public Health, research areas: hygiene, ecology, etc..<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-50600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001-300x114.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"114\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001-300x114.png 300w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001-1024x389.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001-768x292.png 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001-624x237.png 624w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image001.png 1473w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The leading scholars, who delivered lectures were Professor Harvey Alter (h-index 94), researcher, Nobel Prize winner in physiology and medicine (2020), member of the US National Academy of Sciences; Professor Thomas Krieg (h-index 34), Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology at the University of Cambridge (UK).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-50601\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002-300x93.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"93\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002-300x93.png 300w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002-1024x316.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002-768x237.png 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002-624x193.png 624w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/image002.png 1036w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Lead scientists, who presented master classes and delivered lectures during the International Congress of Medical Sciences (Sofia, Bulgaria)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Aliona Savych, the Associate Professor of Pharmacognosy and Medical Botany had an opportunity to participate in the International Congress of Medical Sciences (Sofia, Bulgaria). She represented I.\u00a0Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University with an presentation on \u201cPhytochemical and pharmacological research of new plant mixtures for treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, establishment of correlation between phytochemical composition and their pharmacodynamics\u201d (section 1: Preclinical sciences (Pharmacology), head of the section Professor Harvey Alter). The report covered phytochemical and pharmacological research of antidiabetic combination of herbal medicinal products and the study of correlations between biologically active substances and their pharmacodynamics. The results of the presented research are part of Aliona Savych\u2019s doctoral dissertation, academic advicor \u2013 Professor Svitlana Marchyshyn, the Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and
