With the assistance of the group mentor, Associate Professor Iryna Smachylo, the 4th<\/sup>\u00a0year medical students of I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University Oleksandr Terenda and Alina Zhemela presented a course of pre-hospital care for the 11th<\/sup>\u00a0grade pupils of Skalat Secondary School of Pidvolochysk district of Ternopil region.<\/p>\n

In emergencies a person may die (from acute circulatory delay, massive bleeding, airway obstruction, etc.) before the arrival of the emergency team. Therefore, the help of the witnesses of the event is important in the system of emergency care as well as of non-medical employees.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The course was based on the current American protocol of pre-hospital care. It presented the main aspects of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the main temporary methods of stopping bleeding.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cUnfortunately, today there are very few people who know how to properly provide pre-hospital care without endangering themselves and worsening the condition of the victim, so we, as future doctors, decided to help overcome this social medical problem,\u201d the organizers noted.<\/p>\n
