On February 14, we traditionally celebrate St. Valentine\u2019s Day. This year, the 1st year students of the International Students\u2019 Faculty together with their tutor, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages \u200b\u200bMaria Kichula and the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Professor Nadiya Fedchyshyn, started this day in a special way. The students \u2013 representatives of Nigeria, Poland, India and Turkey \u2013 presented the peculiarities of their culture, language and traditions to the pupils of Ivan Franko Ternopil Ukrainian Gymnasium. The purpose of the holiday was to unite peoples, popularize creativity, exchange values \u200b\u200band traditions in every culture.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The introduction began with a welcome speech by English teachers Iryna Teremchuk and Yulia Marchuk, who set a special tone for the meeting, calling it \u201cA Path to Wonderland\u201d. The students of the Gymnasium were the first to tell about their country. They prepared informative presentations, an exhibition of embroideries, wonderful Ukrainian songs and demonstrated elements of folk dance.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

TNMU students from Nigeria spoke about the diversity of cultures and languages in their country. Representatives of ethnic groups such as Erob, Ibbo, and Hausa showed common and distinct features in the language of communication, expression of emotions, food, dance, and songs. The final moment of the presentation was the performance of the Nigerian Anthem with the accompaniment of a saxophone.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The Polish students presented the dialects that have a common peculiarities with the Ukrainian language, demonstrated the most delicious Polish cuisine and elements of the Krakowiak dance. The schoolchildren were actively involved in learning certain Polish phrases and sentences.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Students from India invited all the guests to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of one of the most amazing and interesting countries in the world, each corner of which is filled with unforgettable impressions and the vibrant colors of Indian traditions and beliefs. The participants got acquainted with interesting facts about India: history, rituals, traditions, clothes, lifestyle, traditional food and many others. In the end, the students performed a wonderful Indian national song.<\/p>\n

The highlight of the meeting was volunteers from Turkey, representatives of AIESEC, who during the presentation of their country and culture involved in the study of Turkish dance, both gymnasium students and medical students. The culmination of the holiday was the performance of Turkish songs and a national anthem.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> \"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In conclusion, the Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Professor Nadiya Fedchyshyn, sincerely thanked the teachers of English Iryna Vasylivna and Yulia Myroslavivna for the invitation and to the Gymnasium and University students for their excellent training, creative and positive atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The conclusion of the event was that we live in a large and changing world. Spiritually enriching by the culture of other peoples, we join the European and world culture, recognize the value of current trends in the development of European and national education. We, Ukrainians, in turn, are ready to study more deeply the other cultures and join the high spiritual and moral heritage of the Ukrainian and other peoples.<\/p>\n
