According to him, cell therapy is an innovative, extremely promising method of treatment of diseases and traumas, which makes it possible to repair damaged tissues of the body and organs through the transplantation of new healthy cells – stem cells. Stem cells have a unique ability to transform into all types of tissues and cells of the body, in particular blood cells, liver, myocardium, cartilage or nerve tissue. As a result, they restore damaged organs and their functions. Professor Korda emphasized that the potential of using this method for the treatment of diabetes, cancer and other diseases is extremely high.

Director of the International Cultural Exchange Centre “Silk Road”, Director of the International Training Centre “One zone – one way” Wang Yitan, for his part, noted that stem cell therapy has become recognized today and is becoming a priority area of medicine. Due to the Chornobyl catastrophe, many people started suffering from chronic diseases. “At that time, Ukraine set up a research project on regenerative medicine to study the characteristics of stem cells and their use in the treatment of diseases. The possibility of using stem cells, rejuvenation, and increasing life expectancy have achieved significant scientific results. Today, with a view to developing these studies, we are opening a Ukrainian-Chinese project on regenerative medicine and stem cell research, aimed at deepening cooperation in this area. In the future, both sides will implement this cooperation in the form of mutual visits of scientists, academic exchanges, training and creation of international research platforms. This project will promote the development of medicine in China and in the whole world,” Wang Yitan emphasized.

Halyna Lavrenchuk, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Head of the Cellular Radiobiology Laboratory of the National Scientific Center for Radiation Medicine of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, spoke about the experience of using stem cells in the treatment of victims of Chornobyl catastrophe.
