As reported earlier, Ternopil State Medical University launched a charity drive to raise funds for disadvantaged children. TSMU students want bring joyful experiences into the lives of children in need, and to do this they are equipping a rehabilitation room in the School 28 for children with speech, vision, and mental impairments.<\/p>\n
One of the events of the drive took place on May 3, 2018. In the courtyard of TSMU Administrative Building students from Ukraine, Egypt, Yemen, Namibia, Poland, Nigeria and India organized a Festival of Global Cuisines. Celebrating the International Cooking Day, students offered dishes from their native countries for a nominal price to TSMU community.<\/p>\n One of the dishes on offer was a real Yemeni pilaf, cooked by TSMU student Omar Khymid. He said that this is a very popular dish in his country. Polish students prepared tomato soup and other dishes. Students from Egypt cooked their traditional sweets. Representatives of Namibia and Nigeria treated everyone to rice and chicken dishes. Students from India prepared a vegetarian dinner.<\/p>\n Ukrainian students set up a diverse table, featuring sweets and crowd pleasers such as pierogi. The most active in the event were students from the faculties of Pharmacy and Dentistry.<\/p>\n \u00a0In total, the students raised 5,000 hryvnias selling their cooked meals. These money will be added to the previously collected funds, come of which have already been used to \u00a0purchase rehabilitation equipment.
