<\/a><\/em><\/p>\nPerugia, Italy<\/em><\/p>\n This university is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in Italy. It was founded in 1308. The University has received international recognition in 1355, when the Emperor Charles I pledge Perugia to support the University and gave it the right to issue diplomas to the students of all nationalities.<\/p>\n Today the University of Perugia offers a wide range of educational programs covering almost all academic areas. The teaching process combines a strong classic tradition of teaching with desire for innovation and interdisciplinary approach, providing \u00a0the students with favorable environment to achieve high level of education and training. Postgraduate study programs in most of the popular fields offer Master\u2019s and PhD curricula that involve both basic sciences and innovation.<\/p>\n The University of Perugia has signed agreements with 361 universities of the European Union to participate in the Erasmus programme, and also has some 90 cooperation agreements with European and non-European institutions to develop joint initiatives in research and education.<\/p>\n In total the University of Perugia trains about 30 students from around the world on its Erasmus Mundus programmes each year.
