The conference was a joint event organized by Finnish Centre of the Baltic region and the Technological University of \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, implemented in close cooperation with SWEDESD and coordinating support by the University of Uppsala (Sweden). The conference committee invited representatives from Ukraine, Sweden, Belarus, Estonia, Finland, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Kaliningrad.<\/p>\n<p>The event was aimed at finding solutions to current challenges in education for sustainable development, in particular such issues as skills transfer, \u201creal life\u201d competencies, exploration of active learning environments and interdisciplinary approaches.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/15.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-17434\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/15-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"1\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/15-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/15-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/15-624x832.jpg 624w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/15.jpg 823w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Prof. Lars Ryd\u00e9n.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The problem of sustainable development is one of the most pressing in the XXI century, as social development largely depends on the processes of globalization and involving citizens in sustainable development. Conference participants had the opportunity to participate in seminar sessions and discuss perspectives of development in higher education given local and global change, and the main directions of social activities and sustainable development at the local level. Conference presenters were the honorary director of the Baltic University Programme, Professor Lars Ryd\u00e9n and a leading international expert of the Swedish Center for Education for Sustainable Development, Professor Shepherd Urenje,.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/22.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-17435\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/22-300x271.jpg\" alt=\"2\" width=\"300\" height=\"271\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/22-300x271.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/22-624x563.jpg 624w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/22.jpg 949w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During the three-day conference, participants shared up-to-date educational methods, talked about academic processes at their universities.
