On September 24-25 in Dnepropetrovsk the Head of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice of Family Medicine of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Lilia Babinets participated in events devoted to the primary health care development. Deputy Minister of Public Health of Ukraine Viktor Shafranskyi took part in it.<\/p>\n

The board members of Ukrainian non-governmental organization \u201cUkrainian Association of Family Medicine\u201d were involved in the discussions of the topical issues of the primary health care development.<\/p>\n

The urgent matters of financing, structural and functional models of primary health care, cooperation of primary and secondary levels of medical care, training and professional development of family doctors and nurses were discussed during the meeting.<\/p>\n

The main point of all speeches was the fact that in Ukraine family medicine is the only alternative for primary health care development. According to the WHO, primary health care is an important part of medical management. It is the primary provider of the national healthcare system as a central level of medicine.<\/p>\n
