On September 2the rector of Ternopil State Medical University Professor Mykhailo Korda signed a collaboration agreement with the representative of the Peace Corps in Ukraine Natalia Ponomarchuk and the organization\u2019s volunteer Joanne Patti Munisteri. Next Monday the TSMU teachers and students will have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of English.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful that you responded to our request to delegate a volunteer to TSMU. We exert every effort to help our teachers and students to speak English powerfully. The matter is that more than 1,500 international students study at the university. The lectures and practical classes are taught in English for them. So, more profound knowledge of the language for the teaching staff is very important for us. Also, many scientists of TSMU participate in international conferences, where also excellent English is necessary. Hereby we promise to create conditions conducive to Ms. Joan\u2019s stay at our university,\u201d Mykhailo Korda assured.<\/p>\n

The Field Directorof the US Peace Corps in Ukraine Natalia Ponomarchuk, who runs Peace Corps volunteers in Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi regions, said she is grateful for the hearty reception and care about Joanne Patti Munisteri. \u201cShe is an irreplaceable Peace Corps volunteer, who is a medical worker and can teach English medical terminology for students and teachers of Medical University. Actually, she is the first highly specialized professional here. Usually, volunteers mainly help to study general English. They come at the request of Ukrainian organizations, educational institutions to help them in specific tasks,\u201d Natalia added.<\/p>\n
