The scientists of Ternopil State Medical University, including the head of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice of Family Medicine, the vice president of the NGO, the member of UAFM Professor Lilia Babinets and Associate Professor of this department, the secretary of NGO Iryna Borovyk took part in the Research and Training Conference \u201cFamily Medicine is the Fundamental for Public Health of Ukraine\u201d. It was held on October 22-23 at the P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. The event was supported by the Ministry of Public Health and NGO \u201cUkrainian Association of Family Medicine\u201d.<\/p>\n

The meeting with the chief independent professionals, the meetings of the Supporting Department with the Heads of the Departments of General Practice of Family Medicine, undergraduate and postgraduate education at medical universities of MPHU, the meeting of the Expert Task Group of MPH and NAMS of Ukarine on General Practice of Family Medicine, seminars for teachers on GPs training were held during the conference.<\/p>\n

Professor Lilia Babinets and Associate Professor Iryna Borovyk offered the existing multidisciplinary curriculum of the Department of Primary Health Care and General Practice of Family Medicine of Ternopil State Medical University to be accepted as a fundamental document for establishment of the state program for family medicine teaching at the undergraduate level as the members of the work group of UAFM Department of Education, which was chaired by Professor Liudmyla Himion.<\/p>\n

The conference program was of great current interest and very eventful. Hopefully, the conference organizers and participants\u2019 work will be helpful for solving the problem of general physicians practice and their training in General Practice of Family Medicine, which is the fundamental of current health care system of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
