On October 24, 2024, TNMU students Vladyslav Kohut and Yaroslav Syomak (MM-119), together with Associate Professor Roman Kotsyuba from the Foreign Languages Department, organized a first aid course for seventh-grade students at the Lesya Ukrainka Medical Lyceum No. 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students discussed the basic principles of providing first aid and demonstrated practical applications, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Showing the correct position for an unconscious victim (demonstrating in practice, involving the students in how to position a victim who is unconscious properly) and what measures to take until medical professionals arrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Explaining the MARCH algorithm, which should be used to stop massive bleeding, manage airways, restore breathing, and address circulation and head injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demonstrating how to apply a tourniquet to upper and lower limbs (showing practical methods and allowing students to try it themselves, applying a tourniquet to stop bleeding, and explaining the rules for using it without harming the victim).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also covered the rules for chest compressions, emphasizing the dangers of such actions on a conscious person with a normal breathing rhythm. At the end of the session, schoolchildren had the opportunity to ask questions, which the students answered to ensure the session was as beneficial as possible and left no unanswered queries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
