On November 25, 2024, as part of the “One Day at TNMU” project, 11th-grade students from I. Franko Ternopil Academic Lyceum \u201cUkrainian Gymnasium\u201d visited Ternopil National Medical University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The day began with a meeting with TNMU’s Rector, Professor Mykhailo Korda. He introduced the students to the university’s educational opportunities, infrastructure, academic mobility programs, and scientific and creative development resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Ihor Drach, provided a detailed overview of the 2025 admission campaign rules.

Highlights of the Visit<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Institute of Morphology<\/strong>: Students explored the Department of Histology and Embryology, guided by Professor Zoya Nebesna, director of the institute. They attended lecture halls and learning labs and practiced examining histological samples using light microscopes. Assistant Violetta Kulbitska demonstrated state-of-the-art equipment, explained the principles of electron microscopy, and presented electronograms of human tissues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anatomical Museum<\/strong>: Assistant Volodymyr Buryi introduced the students to unique anatomical specimens detailing the human body’s structure and innovative teaching methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department of Pathological Anatomy and Forensic Medicine<\/strong>: Assistant Olena Hladiy showcased rare macro-preparations used in teaching and shared intriguing cases from pathology practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Simulation Training Center<\/strong>: Medical student mentors Tetiana Benedyuk, Anastasiia Krutiak, and Vitalina Sulyma organized practical stations for basic life support and critical bleeding control. Students practiced compressions and applying tourniquets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dental Faculty<\/strong>: Dean Svitlana Boitsaniuk and Deputy Dean Lyudmyla Patskan guided students through the profession of dentistry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Surgical Training<\/strong>: Under the guidance of Professor Mykhailo Hnatiuk, students observed techniques used in surgical procedures during a practical session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vivarium Tour<\/strong>: Associate Professor Yaroslav Stravskyi of the Department of Medical Biology explained the breeding and care of laboratory animals used in education and research. Students saw facilities for mice, rats, guinea pigs, and Vietnamese pigs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The students were accompanied by their teachers and mentors from TNMU, including several senior medical students who were guides throughout the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Takeaway<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The immersive experience gave high school students a firsthand look at the medical field, modern laboratory equipment, and TNMU’s innovative teaching methods. It also inspired many aspiring future doctors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
