Given that many students engage in scientific research during their studies, they must understand key concepts such as &#8220;plagiarism,&#8221; &#8220;self-plagiarism,&#8221; &#8220;falsification,&#8221; &#8220;fabrication,&#8221; &#8220;cheating,&#8221; and &#8220;deception.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-large eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"818\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image001-1-818x460.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-157225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image001-1-818x460.jpg 818w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image001-1-240x135.jpg 240w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image001-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image001-1-200x112.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image001-1.jpg 1366w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 818px) 100vw, 818px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\">Associate Professor Tolokova Tetiana, Secretary of the Academic Integrity Support Group, presented the results of a survey conducted among over 350 students to assess their awareness of academic integrity. The survey, conducted via Google Forms and supported by corporate communication resources and the Student Parliament, revealed:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">71.1% admitted using hints from peers during assessments,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">12.4% used cheat sheets,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">16.5% cheated during academic activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">These findings highlight the need for a deeper understanding and promotion of academic integrity principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\" wp-block-image size-full eplus-wrapper\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"540\" height=\"263\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image004.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-157227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image004.png 540w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image004-277x135.png 277w, https:\/\/www.tdmu.edu.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/image004-200x97.png 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\">Academic integrity fosters honesty in education, which is the foundation for developing student independence and responsibility. Students acquire essential skills and enhance critical thinking and independent analytical abilities by avoiding plagiarism, cheating, and dishonesty.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\" wp-block-heading eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Key Discussions and Proposals:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<ol class=\" wp-block-list eplus-wrapper eplus-styles-uid-9b2ae5\">\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Professor O<\/strong><strong>lha<\/strong><strong> Yaremchuk<\/strong> (Department of Medical Biochemistry) proposed actively disseminating information about academic integrity using corporate messaging platforms to prevent violations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>O<\/strong><strong>ksana<\/strong><strong> Pukhalska<\/strong>, responsible for plagiarism checks, discussed the potential of utilizing academic anti-plagiarism systems to analyze sources, detect similarities, and provide feedback to authors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>Anastasiia Dub<\/strong>, Chair of the Young Scientists Council and Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmacy Management and Economics reported on efforts to monitor violations of academic integrity during written assignments in the Faculty of Pharmacy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\" eplus-wrapper\"><strong>I<\/strong><strong>hor<\/strong><strong> Drach<\/strong>, Secretary of the Admissions Committee and Associate Professor of the Ukrainian Language Department, highlighted using anti-plagiarism software for students&#8217; scientific work, such as essays.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<p class=\" eplus-wrapper\">Professor Vadziuk proposed a resolution at the meeting to deepen students&#8217; awareness of academic integrity principles.
