On February 6-7, 2025, the discussion platform “Common Vectors: Educators, Students, Practitioners”<\/em> took place in Lviv, with the participation of sixth-year TNMU students Ivan Lutsyk and Ulyana Dyshko. The event was organized by the team of the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Medical Education Development,”<\/em> implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main goal of the discussion platform was to foster dialogue between students, medical educators, practicing physicians, and healthcare administrators to discuss current challenges in medical education in Ukraine and collaboratively seek solutions. Representatives of all key stakeholders were involved, allowing for a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the modern medical training system, identifying local shortcomings and systemic issues, exchanging best practices, and forming a vision for the future of medical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was moderated by Matviy Khrenov, co-founder of the Ukrainian Healthcare Center (UHC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants also had the opportunity to attend lectures by invited speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first lecture was delivered by Andriy Rozhdestvenskyi, Executive Director of the Leadership Center at UCU. In his presentation on the evolution of leadership and its modern models, he shared insights on character-based leadership, virtues, and authentic leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next speaker was Oleh Petrenko, a senior executive responsible for strategic development at private clinics “Universal Clinic Oberih,”<\/em> “Isida,”<\/em> and “Dobrobut.”<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his lecture, Mr. Petrenko discussed what it means to be a leader, emphasizing the importance of personal integrity, broad perspectives, and virtues. Reflecting on the educational process, he highlighted learning (transmitting knowledge and skills) and research (searching for and creating new knowledge) as essential elements for developing a high-quality educational environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
